I think it’s because of the color of the numbers in the cars (Mansell’s 5 were Red, and Piquet’s 6 were White). The difference of the numbers color was reasoned to facilitate identification of the cars.

Well, Di Villota don’t have an Superlicense (to be honest: she’s only in Marussia cause she’s woman).
And Maldonado probably got more sponsorship.
