A 6.3km flow-y circuit, inspired (somewhat) by Spa. The pit lane is on the right. Runs (mostly) anti clockwise. The circuit starts with a long left hairpin, which then leads to a series of downhill kinks. Drivers then funnel down to a 270-degree right turn, that winds steeply uphill, and passes over…[Read more]
I don’t believe for a second McLaren are at all interested in Grosjean. He’s a nice guy and can be very good on his day, but I don’t see long-term race winning potential in him. And just because Boullier is a there doesn’t mean Grosjean is a dead cert.
While on the subject, what did McLaren see in Boullier? What is it that he’s achieved that they…[Read more]
He’s racing in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. He started the year well – three thirds and a win, was tied with Nyck de Vries for the lead of the championship – but hasn’t scored since then.

Nobody. He overtook Alonso on Kemmel but went wide a bit like Vettel (didn’t cut as much though), then came back behind Alonso and ahead of Bottas and stayed there. I don’t think there was any overtakes at Rivage on lap 1.

I agree with you completely @junior-pilot!
Didn’t Maldonado take five full seasons in GP2 to win the championship? Any driver who has to spend more than three years in GP2 without winning the title can’t really be considered superstar material.

Mercedes dropping Rosberg for one race would not only show the drivers that Merc management is not to messed with – it would be a clear message as to who is really in charge. At the moment Merc management looks like a huge collection of vaguely defined directors of this or that (Wolff, Lauda, Lowe, Bob Bell – until he left, and probably…[Read more]

Ha, I see some Rosberg fans/Hamilton detractors panicking, talking about ‘trial by Twitter’. The mood overall is pretty hostile to Rosberg I reckon.
I think consulting by social media is great. Trial by Twitter beats the timid jobsworth stewards any day of the week IMO.
Kudos to Merc for even talking about squaring up the points with a…[Read more]
Triskaidekaphobics are probably having a field day with his choice of driver number. Although us ‘normal’ people know it has nothing to do with superstitions but more due to the un-competitiveness of the car Lotus has produced and Pastor’s mentality or adaptability which so far have proven sub-par especially compared to teammate Romain Grosjean.

I think this clearly shows that public perception is the MOST important thing to Mercedes/Stuttgart, without question.
I think they’ll put Nico on internal probabtion, and if he does something stupid/cheaty again, they ban him from a race or practice sessions depending on severity. I think deep down the heads at Mercedes know that a lot of the…[Read more]

It’s a bit silly, but ultimately, penalising the drivers through race bans and such are going to be damaging to the team as well.
I’d propose something like taking away FP1/FP2 time and giving it to a reserve or young driver; it makes the Merc driver lose out on setup/data collection time, but still leaves them with the equipment to be ahead of…[Read more]

Have no idea where they are going with this but I have to say great job by them to involve the fans.
If only Bernie/FOM could understand the value of social media….
