As Sky have reported Alonso’s crash was probably similar to Maldonado’s at the same spot last year during quali.

29th October 2014, 12:16 at 12:16 pm #280821W-KParticipantThinking about it, how many drivers do complete PU change in Brazil to try and maximise last race position?
29th October 2014, 12:10 at 12:10 pm #280818W-KParticipantSo, therefore do the same as Vettel is reported to be doing, change complete PU and start from pit lane.
It will not be much different from qualifying 6th and getting 10 place drop one component needs changing.
16th July 2014, 23:42 at 11:42 pm #266755W-KParticipantThis is for the UK, link is https://my.virginmedia.com/customer-news/articles/sports-season-ticket.html
The price I gave is the full price after any introductory discount. Discount price for new customers is £6.50 for the M+ pack plus the line rental of £15.99
The offer is described as a 10 month season ticket, for the football season, obviously.I am a long term Virgin subscriber as I cannot receive any satellite signals, and therefore in my negotiations I managed to get a £5/month loyalty discount as well. The bundle not only includes the 6 channels from Sky sports but adds in the Eurosports and BT sports channels. These are usually only available in Virgins XL package (£23/month, i.e. £10/month more) which is a couple of steps above the M+ package required as minimum.
16th July 2014, 18:26 at 6:26 pm #266735W-KParticipantIs this the cheapest, legal, way to watch F1. You require the M+ TV package with TIVO box (£13/month) and phone line (£15.99/month). If new customer reduced for 1st 6 months. Bundles that include mobile and/or broadband are also available, subject to area coverage. The Big Kahuna bundle then costs £150
- up front
for 10 months.
That I make out would be £28.99 * 12 = £347.88,
+ £150 = £497.8816th January 2014, 1:31 at 1:31 am #248094W-KParticipant17th October 2013, 1:08 at 1:08 am #243155W-KParticipantAs it’s about marketing and F1, maybe a look at North America and the major motor manufacturers. As I see it, some of the major manufacturers have not entered F1 teams or have pulled out because F1 is not a major sport in the area where their biggest market is.
12th September 2013, 22:05 at 10:05 pm #239604W-KParticipantWill the teams accept a season of more than 20 races when considering the max 5 engines/season rule?
Or will they demand rule change and Bernie to pay for the extra engines?
1st July 2013, 6:57 at 6:57 am #238358W-KParticipantFor once I totally agree with Magnificent Geoffrey, it should be the shortest discussion ever.
Webber is the better driver.
That is not to say Massa hasn’t had some good performances, but I think the stats say he is more liable to bin it, than win it. In the fantasy world of which drives would you have in your team, Massa would not be up for consideration, at all, by me.
31st May 2013, 0:03 at 12:03 am #237268W-KParticipantTalking of the sound and commentary. I would like to see this on separate channels, so that if the commentator starts rambling, or doing meaningless repeats or interviews the commentary could be lowered or muted and I could listen to the engines, gear changes and tyre squeals etc.
29th May 2013, 15:25 at 3:25 pm #237262W-KParticipantWell I can hope, I cannot justify the cost of getting Sky sport F1 via Virgin. And I cannot receive any Satellite here. And I am not going to pay £9.99/day for Sky’s TV Now. So I am hoping for any other cheaper option.
The best I am doing at the moment is driving 35 miles each way to my sons, but that is only meant to be a temporary detachment, that has lasted 16 months so far.19th March 2013, 12:34 at 12:34 pm #228623W-KParticipantFrom April 9th, Sky only have 8 exclusive races left. I might try it for the next 4 race days only and see if Virgin have the half price offer still on to cover the last 4 races.
6th November 2012, 19:31 at 7:31 pm #214590W-KParticipantIt might be better if F1 was to be the same as some other formula’s where a pit lane start is one lap down.
6th November 2012, 19:29 at 7:29 pm #214589W-KParticipantLets put this clearly
Gear ratios are declared two hours after FP2.
FP3 is NOT under parc ferme conditions. But you cannot change gears.
After start of Qualifying until start of race the cars are in parc ferme condiions, but you can change the cars spec if the team takes it out, but must start from pit lane.Even the new teams would be able to catch up to the back of the field from the pit lane. Because if you hadn’t noticed the cars are spreading out and therefore the back markers are going slower than normal.
