@Fer-no65 I have seen many people respond to that statement with ‘don’t make me laugh’. Simple fact is, it is currently not a colony in the truest sense. A colony is a territory completely governed by another country. The Islanders govern themselves in almost every area apart from foreign relations and defense, with Britain having a responsibility for good democracy. With Argentina taking them over, they WILL be governed by a foreign power, a power that they will not want governing them, so therefore will become am Argentine colony. Laugh it off, but its true. Let them be and let them decide their own future.

But anyway, as you said, this is about a rather pathetic ‘race track’ that might be constructed in Argentina. In my opinion Argentina has much deeper problems that it should think about before funding a Grand Prix. You may be right that YPF ‘needed’ to be taken over by the government, but as the Spanish government have said, the fact that the company has been nationalised will no doubt turn some companies away from investing. You can’t simply nationalise a foreign owned company if you believe they aren’t doing good enough. Looks as though trade is going suffer, now. First Argentina needs to sort itself out, then it should consider funding and organising a GP around a rather boring looking track.

@Prisoner-Monkeys No, I do not simply believe Britain should decide the calendar. That job is up to the French, however the Argentine government are extremrly unprofessional in the way they go about their business. Take the Falklands and this new YPF energy dispute. All of this is just a smokescreen to the real problems there. The President is immensely populist, on the fringes of unrealism.

Your claims of imperialism are groundless in this dispute. It is uo to the islanders if they want to remain British, Argentine or go independent. We certainly aren’t going to stop them if they announce a referendum. Besides, what Argentina are doing amounts to colonialism, much more than Britain. They want to force their own ides on them, against their wishes. Britain only defend the islands militarily and diplomatically. Therefore what Argentina are trying to do is much more like imperialism.
I could go on, and will, but later.

    Best Driver: Rosberg
    Worst Driver: Massa
    Best Team: Mercedes
    Worst Team: Ferrari
    Best Overtake: All of them
    Best Funny- moment: BBC opening
    Most Surprising Result: Rosberg winning
Least Surprising Result: Massa out of points
Special Mention to: Hamilton, good rise from a penised position
    Race Rating: 9/10

BBC vs Sky: BBC, I watched Sky other races and their is no comparision. Lao put it best, its more personal and fun than sky. Technology and adverts saying that they’re all good and the ‘engineering’ broadcaster is just stupid. Commentary is only decent thing on sky.
Best BBC/Sky commentator/presenter: DC and Edwards were pretty good.
Worst BBC/Sky commentator/ presenter: Lee McKenzie is very disappointing, disappointingly.
    Best Commentary moment: N/A
World feed rating: 8/10 much better tham Malaysia

@prisoner-monkeys Northern Ireland is completely different. Nobody is essentially ‘blockading’ them.

Imperialism doesn’t exist in the world, anymore. Falklands are as British as the Channel Islands and they are essentially a country defended by Britain. There may no longer be warfare, but there are lots of diplomatic and financial complications. The Argentine government’s treatment of the Falkland islanders just isn’t right and is pathetic.

But anyway, enough of that, the track proposed is RUBBISH!

@Victor_RO I never said that the engine for Bourdais was a chevy. I do realise he is in the Lotus badged Judd, that has been playing up. I was just adding that it’s 12 drivers who will get penalties, not 11.

Lotus are now a byword for joke, although Chevy are running them close in IndyCar with this debacle.

Autosport said Bourdais as well. 12 drivers…

Don’t go guessing my F1 knowledge. I do know that Argentina had a grand prix, but it certainly wouldn’t be high on my list of returnee’s. It has no drivers and just because it hosted a GP in the past does not entitle it to a place in the future. Countries shouldn’t really matter, it should be the tracks first and foremost and this new track looks boring and unimaginitive.

Why? Simple fact is that I don’t want to race in Argentina. They bring nothing to the sport, the track proposed looks awful, plus there’s a tiny matter of the Falklands, but that’s only a tiny matter, it’s not as if the islands are that close to the country. There are much more important countries that deserve a grand prix than Argentina, such as France, Belgium and Imola(a track).

My opinion. We need challenging GP’s on purpose built, challenging racing circuits in every corner of the world.

Rubbish track. Let’s have a race on the Falklands. It’s hilly, has lots of free space and the wind will make set up very difficult. South Atlantic British Grand Prix sounds alright to me.

You pay for the Beeb anyway, through a licence fee.

BBC for me, Sky have been WOEFUL on post race analysis this year. Only good points are there commentary, which is as good as the BBC, and Ant with his SkyPad. George Thompson is useless and why do we need to know why John Button is outside smoking? Thank god I’m not paying for Sky.
