Well, the timing sheets are a hell of a lot closer than first anticipated in pre-season. Honestly, I’d just like a strong points finish from the first race and build from there. The first race of the season is something we haven’t won before, so it would be nice to win, but we’ll see how it goes.
@mathers – I think it was a mix of over-aggressiveness and luck. I braked far too late into turn 3, but it really worked to my advantage, though I probably should have got a penalty! From then on, people seemed to keep having problems behind me and that helped preserve my shock lead. I’m not expecting a result as good in the next few races, until…[Read more]
Vettel was the best driver of the season even before Hungary. Hamilton’s mediocre performances in Spain and Austria were largely masked by his car.
Would have been a real story if Meteor had grabbed the top spot in FP1, but second place is still nothing to turn one’s nose up at. Plus the new boy at Franklin asserting himself early on, it’ll be interesting to follow that particular dynamic between Wagner/Ruiz and how Jamie chooses to handle them. I’m impressed with how close the field is,…[Read more]
I am genuinely shocked at that. Don’t get me wrong, 16th & 20th is nothing to write home about, but I was fully expecting us to be plumb last, possibly ahead of Ocelot, so that’s a nice surprise. Would be awesome if we could somehow nick a point.
I’m not sure whether to be pleased with that or not. Karl did a great job again, but we’re a little bit off the front, despite the investment over the past year, something which is unforgivable. I’ve got no idea what happened with Adrien, 8th is really not where we were planning on being this year. Great to see Meteor right up there, really…[Read more]
Well for me that was fully worth the wait, and I just hope we can keep up that pace.
Some interesting points though:
Mattson nearly half a second ahead of Milkovich
About a second between Ellington and Wilson
Unpredictability is an important element of any race. It’s what makes a race, a race – or it would just be a procession which is what we’ve been having for quite some rounds now.
If I know either Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg is gonna win, and one of them do, where is the unpredictability?
When I Googled “race meaning” this is what I…[Read more]
Magnussen, Palmer, Leimer, Marciello, Wolff – replacement drivers make it 25.
The opening round of my 2014 Championship as Jules Bianchi on F1 2015. Starting in a somewhat shock third, there’s a great chance for Bianchi to score his first points, but can he manage it or possibly get better?
