Honda appear to have the most reliable car having completed more kilometers per car and per day of testing than any team to date using their 2006 cars. Honda have managed 438 km per car each day compared to Renault, second, with 399 km:
Team | Distance per car per day (km) |
Honda | 438 |
Renault | 399 |
Toro Rosso | 376 |
BMW | 355 |
Toyota | 294 |
McLaren Mercedes | 292 |
Williams Cosworth | 280 |
Ferrari | 278 |
Midland F1 Toyota | 272 |
Red Bull Ferrari | 175 |
Super Aguri Honda | 173 |
With less than a fortnight to go until the start of the season, guaranteeing the reliability of the new engines packages for two full race distances plus practice and qualifying is uppermost in teams’ minds. this is understood to be particularly so at McLaren, who recently begun testing a second generation of Mercedes V8.
