Midland F1 fan site Midland F1 Online are not happy with jokes made about their team by the UK press. The Guardian and The Times both made light of the team’s name and its similarity to UK furniture store MFI (More Furniture Ideas).
MF1 Online writer Huw Alban said:
[This] is an old joke, old news, and quite frankly not particularly funny in my opinion… out of date adolescent stabs more in keeping with tabloid publications featuring vast quantities of scantily clad young ladies!
Last year various UK publications dubbed team boss Colin Kolles (pictured) ‘Chavski’ due to his penchant for Burberry hats (sadly not pictured).
