I’m glad you have started this Keith as I really need xmas ideas! :P
Probably finally get rfactor as I decided to wait to get that. Which means I need a steering wheel. Anyone know any good and reasonably priced ones?
I’m hoping to get Sky so I can actually watch much more motorsport on my TV.

I used to play a few simulations, I have had both the Logitech Driving Force Pro (DFP) & the newer G25, as well as a much cheaper alternative when I first started.
I would definitely recommend the Logitech wheels, they are infinitely more fun (and realistic) than the cheap one I had, and you can probably pick up a DFP for cheap nowadays.

Thanks very much Invoke!

I’ve had a few wheels over the years.
The Logitech G25 or newer G27 is worth the money over anything that is cheaper.
You may find it hard to find a Logitech DFP (Driving Force Pro) now as they are discontinued. I have one and it is very good as the G25 was not out when I bought my wheel.

You’ve seen it already?! That’s quick. Please do. :)
Good or bad, I’ve bought it already. I have a copy of every DVD season review this decade – and a VHS copy of the only season this decade that didn’t have one…

I’d quite like a Wii please Santa. Not exclusively for F12009 but I’d like and the steering wheel accessory too please. I don’t want for much else, except maybe some chocolate coins.

A load of books for my rapidly expanding library would be great, and a couple of Autocourse would go down nice too (1989, 1982, 1991, 2003 and 2005 would be jolly lovely thanks!) Some 1:43 scale F1 cars would be nice too, because sadly for my girlfriend that’s my latest obsession! If you could pop them in all the post before the weekend so they’re here in plenty of time for Christmas I’d appreciate it. Thanks Keith!

It’s not exactly F1 related, but I think it would appeal to the same crowd, I know I love mine: A Leatherman Skeletool CX. It has carbon fiber on it and, in a pinch, can help change a nose cone!

Hey, thanks Keith! That’s very generous of you.
I’ll have a complete F1 season with no-cheating, S&M sex scandals, no Steward’s incompetence, no FIA interference, no technical tussles, no mickey-mouse tracks, no blasted anything apart from good quality racing!
Whadda yer mean “No chance”?

A redesign of the Montreal track – ok, at least a refurbishing – but not by Tilke
F1 in true high-definition (never mind that I have no HD equipment)
A go at a few laps in an F1 car
And most of all: my girlfriend, who I haven’t seen in 3 months overseas.

FOM takeover for 1 euro by the readers of
F1fanatic:
– cheap tickets
– proper Race tracks
– at least 20 races
– 5 rookie races in the winter
– free internet coverage
– clips staying on you tube
– etc etc
…and also the removal of the homaxnuclus from the head of Jean Todt would be nice…

I’m Jewish, do I still get a present from Santa? I wouldn’t mind having a copy of The Formula One Champions Opus:
http://www.luxurylaunches.com/other_stuff/the_formula_one_champions_opus_book_for_every_f1_fan.php
What, it’s just around the same price as a luxury car! Is that so much to ask?

Through Twitter I discovered this guy that does really cool motorsport prints, I reckon they’d make really good presents for F1 fans, or any motorsport fan cos he does MotoGP and rally too, think he does requests if there’s any thing you wanted as long as they’d be a demand for it. This is his website http://www.motorsportinprint.com/
I’d like the season review for Christmas but I doubt I’ll be getting much this year because apparently now I’m 21 I don’t get as many presents :( who wants to grow up?!
steph

Katy’s right motorsportprint are brilliant and I think quite cheap for F1 artwork.

Wish 1. As an F1 fan from Australia I wish for the ENTIRE BBC coverage, not just the race to be broadcast here. After having watched the Grid walk and pre show program with Jake, Eddie Jordan & David Coulthard on the net, it makes a mockery of the sad effort our local broadcaster delivers. But at least we get all the races live now.
Wish 2. Bring back manual gear boxes!

Some ideas:
Darren Heath photo prints. Some of the best photos around this sport.
For those interested on scale F1 cars check here High quality, but high prices also.
For Steph90, as a Felipe Massa fan, She can ask for the same watch Felipe is sponsoring
And for me, given my age, I should ask for a classic and old racing style watch:
In “real life” I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to afford a manómetro for me, my two daughters (20 & 17 years old), my wife, and my large family, take a big portion of my Christmas budget!
But as in Spain we have “The three Wise Men” tradition also, who knows, maybe them can bring me one!
steph
6th December 2009, 10:21
Thanks very much IDR :D Although I don’t know if Santa could afford it! :p
This year I think I’m going to ask for WRC 2009 dvd, F1 review 2009 and probably some from 80s or earlier if possible.
Biographies on Gilles, Lauda, Mansell and Hunt will be very nice. Maybe something on Alesi or Berger if I can find them.
The top 100 f1 drivers of all time book.
Probably a few Ferrari and STR things will be chucked in and some more prints to add to my growing collection.
Keith if you are Santa then all I want is for this blog to keep going forever as it is brilliant.
And mp4 to finally return and not do a Mika Hakkinen by saying he will return but not actually doing so :p

An F1 drive in my stocking would be pretty good.
I’ll partner Rosberg if Schumacher’s not up for it. Perhaps if I write a nice letter to Mr. Haug it might just come true this Christmas?

My F1-related wish list…
– A return of the USGP, hopefully somewhere close to home
– For one or more of the promising young Americans (Rossi, Summerton, Hildebrand) to sign a contact with an F1 team and race in GP2 or another series, similar to Bianchi’s deal with Ferrari.
– The 2009 Formula 1 Yearbook: No other books, as I am currently reading DC’s autobiography, and have a stack of other books waiting to be read
– The various books and DVDs commemorating the Yankees’ World Series Championship (sorry Wesley!!)
– For Meryck Hurley (seen in those GP previews Keith used to post) to take over Peter Windsor’s pitlane reporter job at Speed TV this season ;)

Jenson’s book
2009 season review DVD
Both are possible/likely, my girlfriend has to tell her kids what to get me.
A time machine (not likely),i’ve been to Monaco twice with a clear view of pit lane entrance, seeing Jenson’s run to the podium ceremony is something i’ll always wish i’d seen in person. It was great on TV, if they show that as part of the build up, surely he’ll win BBC sports personality.
