Force India got both cars in the points for the first time this year – then got a boost from the stewards when Michael Schumacher was relegated.

Adrian Sutil
Beaten by his team mate in qualifying for the first time this year, partly through having to abort one lap due to Vitaly Petrov’s crash in Q2.
But with Nico Hulkenberg not taking up his place on the grid Sutil was immediately promoted one place and ended the first lap behind Liuzzi.
When Liuzzi pitted, Sutil was released, but he wasn’t quick enough to keep up with the Mercedes.

Vitantonio Liuzzi
Got into Q3 but when the race started Sutil caught up to him and was clearly being held up by his team mate. The team probably brought Liuzzi in early to give Sutil some clean air – it’s not as if Liuzzi needed to pit to preserve track position.
Sutil got ahead of him through the pit stops and Liuzzi proved unable to keep up with him.

Great work by FI considering their previous records at street circuits. If Kubica does stay within the top four then Adrian and Tonio will have a lone battle for the last point. Don’t see anyone else challenging.

Barrichello? Petrov? Toro Rossos?

yeah, i know, they all exist. Petrov, Hulk have never got it right. Buemi, Alg just don’t have the pace nor the experience to get into Q3 and hold on to their positions. Rubens is pushing that williams to its limits but don’t think that Cosworth can match Mercedes at other circuits.

I’m not really expecting Liuzzi to last much longer. I reckon he has about five more races in that cockpit if his form doesn’t improve.

Yeah it’s starting to look good for Paul di Resta.

So out-qualifying Sutil in Monaci isn’t enough to stay?
