    1. In know Fernando was all over the place with setup and then tyres so these flaps mean a little less this weekend but I am pleased to see Felipe so high. Hamilton was insanely quick.

    2. Laptime differences between some teammates are really shocking… Especially Alonso was extremelly slow compared to Massa…

      1. Alonso crashed though, so wouldn’t have been able to give a lap on the lightest fuel weight.

        1. In see what you mean now, lap by lap he was generaly slower. Was this not because Alonso was set up for rain yesterday.

          1. I checked the times from fia.com, and Fernando s fastest lap was 1,263 slower then Massa s… Looking on average racelaps, Alonso was 0,295s slower then Felipe… So, it was definitely Alonso s worsest race in terms of pace comparing to Massa… (I compared 30 laps of both, not those spent behind the SC, or in and outlaps for pit or the first lap of the race)

            1. But Alonso spent most of his race in traffic, with a car that must have had some damage from the Barrichello collision. It’s hardly a fair comparison.

            2. He wasn t ALWAYS stucked in traffic… He had also clean air, but with no extraordinary times… It definitely wasn t his weekend…

          2. He didn’t crash until they put the wet tyres on, so he wouldn’t have posted a faster lap anyway.
But as Kieth said his car was damaged at the end of the first lap too…

      2. It might have something to do with Massa having a lower-downforce rear wing compared to Alonso for quali and the race or it might just have been the set up. I find it hard to believe Alonso would just keep losing time to Massa though. Maybe he was just having a poor race.

      3. Alonso had a rear wing the size of Luxemburg and was in traffic during the fastest part of the race. In clear air he was on the pace of the leaders in the dry even with a wet set-up

    3. I cant believe the new teams are still around 3 seconds slower than the back of the established teams

      1. Don’t forget it’s a much longer lap than usual. Probably less than 2 seconds on most other tracks

      2. Not long ago, 3s was the gap to P5 or P6 in qualifying on a normal length track.. This is historic parity.

        1. 3 seconds is absolutely nothing, I agree with Yellow…

    4. Sakon with a respectable time!

    5. When track was best for the fastest laps (=before the late rain) Alonso had some 25 laps with his tyres while Massa about five. I think that explains part of the gap between him and Massa, but not all of it.

    6. Interesting that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th fastest laps came from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th placed finishers, in that order exactly. Wonder how often that’s happened before.
