I am glad the Commonwealth Games are over, as here in Australia we might get Qualifying delay free. I was so thankful for the live blogs in Japan, and I will be using them again this weekend. Looking forward to it, thanks Keith. :)

Ironically, the Commonwealth Games actually made One show both the scheduled and delayed qualifying live.
This weekend however – in QLD at least – there’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Qualifying on before, so the coverage doesn’t start until 3:45pm (4:45pm with Daylight Savings) so it will be about an hour delay.
The race is live though.

This annoys me. I can’t imagine there would be more than 1000 people in the entire country who have ever taken an interest in ‘NASCAR’, and I am assuming this will be a delayed telecast, possibly even a repeat of the qualifying session, yet it somehow gets priority over F1 qualifying. Looks like I will be watching a stream, yet again.

Well, in Tasmania, the original qualifying session on Saturday (the one that was rained out) was shown 3 hours after it took place, and on Sunday they completely cancelled it. For the race, I was completely panicking, as mainlanders in the live blog were telling me it was on in their respective states, yet I was watching a weightlifting repeat… Eventually, OneHD abruptly and unprofessionally cut away from the weightlifting to the live telecast, where the cars were beginning their warm-up laps.
My sanity was spared, but only just! :P

In Sydney it appears to be all live. the commonwealth games didnt delay the coverage up here in japan. although they did go back to the coverage after the session was red flagged ;)

Looks like SPEED will be streaming FP1 again. Hopefully it’ll be without commentary like Japan so you can really here the cars!

On saturday morning I got up in A London hotel to watch the F1, but not at the start of the programme, I was up an hour later so I could just see cars!! anyway, obviously it had been cancelled, but it shows how handy F1F is, I felt so cut off with no wifi :L

Usually, I don’t watch F1 on BBC, but I think I will this week. I see that saturday, the coverage starts 1 hour before qualifying. I just wanted to know what is shown during the hour before the qualifying, and is it worth to wake up one hour earlier then.

I know I’m missing out but my internet connection just isn’t good enough (which doesn’t help with my stress level), one day I hope to join you properly.

As much as I adore F1 these early morning sessions are one day going to kill me. Completely worth it though.
If anyone is getting up early I really recommend coming on the live blog as even if nothing is happening the chatter and banter is such a laugh and it’s great to share the early hours with people just as dedicated about F1 all across the globe (sorry mods for giving you more work).

Someone’s missed a trick, why isn’t this a night race? New track, not that i’m particularly against it not being a night race, but you’d have thought Bernie would have got his foot down.
They’d never have organised it though.
