Kubica would have done better /sarcasm
I wonder if Schumacher aborted his lap so he could leave open the choice to start on soft tyres tomorrow? Should be an interesting race from him.
Alonso might be ruing that 4th place tomortrow, especially if Vettel’s KERS isn’t working and he has a mobile chicane to deal with as well as being on the dirty side.

I doubt schumi will start on softs, if he wanted to he would have qualified with them and had a better grid position.
I think he is looking for a mega long stint on the hards at the start which is why he didnt even want to do one lap with them and then try and carve his way through the field with the help of softs and drs. Will be interesting to see how it works out, for some reason I dont think it will

Schumi said had a problem with KERS in Q3 and so couldn’t do a decent lap. But it will be interesting to see which tyres he starts with…

I’ve had enough of fake grids because drivers want new tyres. Qualifying is becoming less and less important.

I don’t see how it’s fake?

I think that’s most definitely what Schumacher was doing. Now if only he can convert that aggression into smart over-takes rather than all out ramming other cars he should be in for a good race.

Poetic justice for Sutil, the German thug, gets beaten by his teammate.

I’m sorry, I didn’t realise we’d abandoned “innocent until proven guilty”. What is it now? Guilty until proven dead?

Justice for what? What happened in a bar has nothing to do with what happens on track and certainly nothing to do with his teammate having a faster lap.

Nothing new though, is it?

Even though starting on the dirty side, I’m backing Petrov to be 3rd into the first corner after Webber and Hamilton. Vettel to drop to around 6th or 7th with dodgy KERS and then fight his way back to 2nd at the finish. Anyone else want to make a prediction?

Yes: Vitaly Petrov will single-handedly cause the apocalypse that was scheduled for today. He will beat Alonso to the win, causing a war between Russia and Spain. The next few days will play out like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but with better writing.

LOL PM you are great!

I like your thinking PM. If Webber beats Vettel will there be pitched battles between Australia and Germany in your post-gp apocalypse? (Perhaps the German war banners would feature a raised index finger, while the Australians would respond with two raised fingers).

I finally predict with me head instead of my heart and Webber goes and sticks the thing on pole.

I had initially predicted Webber for pole as well, but changed it to Vettel just a couple of minutes before the start of quali. Argh..

Not a particularly thrilling qualifying session. Similar to how Turkey played out but nevertheless, some good results. Particularly Kovaleinen and Maldonado.

Hear, Hear. Pastor and Heikki did impress. I’m actually going to be following them as much as the front runners……. unless they are the front runners (wishful thinking, fingers crossed :) )
