Romain Grosjean made the most progress during the Australian Grand Prix. He brought his Haas home 13 places higher than he started.

Both Toro Rosso drivers, however, lost places compared to their starting positions as they had to pit after the red flag interruption. Carlos Sainz Jnr finished two places below where he started and his unhappy team mate lost five places.

  1. Hello Keith, Race position change for for Magnussen and Palmer are 2 not 3 as written in Your otherwise good table.

    1. Pascals race position change should be 5 not 6.
How many of the overtakes did we actually see? The last two of the race was not shown to us. How many of Grosjeans position gains were overtakes? None as far as I can see from the diagram.

      1. Thanks guys I’ve corrected this.

  2. Grosjean was a bit lucky to get a free pitstop during the interruption, but that’s the benefit of staying out as long as possible. He drove faultlessly and he managed to keep the likely faster cars behind him for a pretty long time.

  3. The red flag sure broke Hamilton’s race, he lost 16 seconds between laps 19 and 31 stuck behind the Torro Rossos, when they finally pitted, he managed to pull the gap from rosberg down from 19 to 8 seconds.
