2012 Spanish GP: Tips and Advice?

Hi all
Just registered with this fantastic forum, to basically ask some questions. I’m planning a surprise trip to either Silverstone, or the Spanish GP (Spanish is preferable as it would seem more like a holiday than SS)
We’d be flying from Newcastle (North East) Airport to Barca.
Can anyone advice/point in the right direction for Accomodation and Gen Addmission tickets please. I’m not sure how tickets work, so advice at all on this would be great as well.
I’m always around to answer questions in more depth, and look forward to hearing some replies!
