Sky has published a list of earnings of the F1 drivers. This gives the possibility of making a completely useless list of points per earnings.

Surprisingly Paul di Rest now leads this championship!

    Nr Name Salary Points Point/Euro
    23 Paul di Resta € 200,000 21 € 9,524
    20 Pastor Maldonado € 400,000 29 € 13,793
    21 Bruno Senna € 250,000 15 € 16,667
    15 Sergio Perez € 500,000 22 € 22,727
    13 Romain Grosjean € 1,000,000 35 € 28,571
    12 Kamui Kobayashi € 1,000,000 19 € 52,632

    9 Kimi Raikkonen € 5,000,000 51 € 98,039
    18 Jean Eric Vergne € 400,000 4 € 100,000
    4 Sebastian Vettel € 10,000,000 73 € 136,986
    5 Mark Webber € 10,000,000 73 € 136,986
    7 Nico Rosberg € 10,000,000 59 € 169,492
    19 Daniel Ricciardo € 400,000 2 € 200,000
    2 Lewis Hamilton € 16,000,000 63 € 253,968
    3 Jenson Button € 16,000,000 45 € 355,556
    1 Fernando Alonso € 30,000,000 76 € 394,737
    6 Felipe Massa € 10,000,000 10 € 1,000,000
    8 Michael Schumacher € 8,000,000 2 € 4,000,000
    10 Heikki Kovalainen € 4,000,000 0
    11 Timo Glock € 3,000,000 0
    16 Vitaly Petrov € 500,000 0
    17 Pedro de la Rosa € 500,000 0
    22 Narain Karthikeyan € 250,000 0
    24 Charles Pic € 150,000 0

Shumacher normally leads a lot of lists, but in this one he’s right at the bottom (well, at least he has scored some points…)

Schumacher gets €4,000,000 per point? Are you serious or is that a typo?

On the earnings themselves; I feel Massa and Schumacher are seriously overpaid while Perez and Di Resta are underpaid.

Kobayashi is paid double Perez? Really, Sauber?

Glock gets paid 20x more than his team mate.

I’m also surprised to see the pay being equal between Vettel and Webber, and Schumacher earning less than Rosberg.

Also, Hulkenberg gets 2.5x’s what Di Resta does!

Heikki Kovalainen gets € 4,000,000, Vitaly Petrov € 500,000… not sure Heikki is likely to score 8 times more points though.
    Interesting figures, thanks.

You cannot compare teammates earnings. Hulk started at 09, Diresta at 11, the contracts were written separately, same at Kovalainen vs Petrov. KOV has been there since 2010 PET did a last second save buying himself in Trullis place. Drivers dont have an exact salary, it depends on negotiations.

Hulk hasn’t been at Force India since 09.

@matt90 the situation with Toro Rosso and Red Bull is slightly different. You cannot directly compare as such. They are paid a relatively small retainer (Vettel is paid especially small, considering he’s a 20+ GP winner and a double champion), but then they get bonus multipliers for points, podiums, and victories. There is another bonus on top for all the team if they win the WCC, and another for their driver if he wins the WDC

@matt90 Sorry not 09, 2010, he got pole in his rookie year in Brazil for Williams. Test driver for FI in 2011, and I think they have a new contract since this year. FI saved money as replacing Liuzzi with Diresta was cheap, so they could afford to give Hulk more money.

@marcus. Where are you getting the drivers salary figures from? I’ve noticed on another popular f1 new site articles discussing alonsos 40 million euro salary, felipes 20 million euro, and rossbergs 16 mill… are they liars over on that “f1planet”?

@jokerinthepack Planet F1 is just about the worst of the rubbish heap of F1, yes.
