Do the penalties awarded in F1 fit the crime.
e.g.Take a drive through penalty, if it is taken early in a race or just after a safety car then it can send the driver to the back of the pack, but if taken near the end of a race it will rarely mean more than a few positions lost.
Also as seen last w/end, the innocent party gets taken out totally and the guilty party, if he hadn’t had other issues could easily scored points.
You can also make a similar case for grid place drops, where depending on the track it means a lot, Monaco, or Spa in mixed weather conditions it doesn’t amount to much. The Mercedes team, where both drivers had drops, finished in the points at about normal positions this year.
