What is the point of free practice one sessions lasting 1½ hours when the teams have one hard set of tyres that only last about 20 laps, or 35 minutes of running time.

With restricted testing and non mid season surely all teams need as much running as possible to sort out problems and test new bits. I know the number of tyres brought to each meeting is restricted to reduce costs but this seems to be counter productive on all fronts. Not enough info gathered for the teams, not enough running for the rookies and nothing for the fans to watch.

Therefore I say, if tyres are to have such a restricted life then there must be enough tyres for the drivers and teams to run on meaningful tyres for the full length of the session.
