Yes, it’s another generic thread because I’m desperate for an off season fix and because there is barely any news right now so anyhoo if you were an F1 driver…

Which small team would you like to start with?
– I’d do a season with Lotus. I’d be competent for most of the year but shock when I get through to Q2 on genuine pace at the last round and qualify 14th.
Which midfield team would you move to?
– I’d sign with Sauber next. In an impressive second season I claim two podiums – one at a crazy Monaco race, and another at a more normal Suzuka race. I remain with Sauber for another season, where a duff car yields no podiums but I do manage a pole position at Montreal and lead comfortably before retiring with an engine failure mid way through.
Would you drive for Ferrari or Mclaren?
– McLaren offer me a seat after my first season at Sauber, but I shockingly turn it down. After my second season at Sauber Ferrari buy Alonso out of their contract to make room for me. I win two titles for the Scuderia in two seasons before retiring.
and you only won one race where would you like it to be?
– Montreal.
and you were remembered for an epic duel to the flag who would you want to be battling with?
– Kobayashi.
what controversy would you most likely cause?
– Me turning down the McLaren seat demoralises and angers Martin Whitmarsh, directly leading to his eventual sacking.
who would you want for a team mate?
– My departure from Ferrari and the sport is sudden and as a result of building tension between me and the team. I want a stronger team mate such as Alonso to learn from and challenge myself, but Ferrari want a solid number two to help deliver them titles. Seeing any other team move as a step backwards, I opt for an early retirement.

– Massa.

– No, but I wouldn’t complain if they did so of their own accord ;)

I’d have Jenson’s relaxed demeanour away from the track but on race weekends I’d be focused and logical like Alonso.

Lotus, being an aggressive driver I would push for Q2 all the time not caring about the tyres.
Which midfield team would you move to?
Sauber, I will be battling it out with Kobayashi to get the most points for the team and making mince-meat out of Schumacher!

1 season with Sauber which sees me finish 8th overall, Schumacher retires and Mercedes re-sign Button, McLaren come knocking on the door along with Ferrari as Massa moves to Brazilian Truck Racing (lol). I turned down Ferrari with public humiliation on TV and sign up for McLaren saying “I will never drive for Ferrari in my life time!”

Qualifying 16th in a McLaren at Spa, the team were unhappy with me, Whitmarsh declaring, if i dnt finish on the podium he will bring in Gary Paffett in my seat. Half the track was wet, the other half being dry, I battle it out with Vettel, him being on Inters, me being on Slicks, last lap tussle i ‘do’ him in Les Combes!

I would have a string of one-night stands with Z-list celebrities such as Bianca Gascoigne, Imogen Thomas and Jodie Marsh. Haha might as well. Then settle down with Kelly Brook.

– Lotus, deffo. I wouldn’t start qualifying due to an unfortunate hydraulics leak but I’d battle my way up from last on the grid to take a memorable second place.

– Williams, always in the points and they’d teach me a lot.

– Hmm, toughy. I reckon I’d do a Kimi and pick both, but Ferrari first then McLaren. ;)

– Ideally, Michael Schumacher (when he was in his prime), but now probably Alonso, just to see his face when we pull into parc ferme.

– I retire at my home race (and home county!) of Silverstone but rather than returning to the garage I’d sit with the fans, watching the race.

– In almost all coincidences, no. But if it was at the last round and only I could win the championship, I ‘d hope so. I’d be faster than my team-mate anyway. ;)

Interlagos. I’d dominate the entire race weekend, setting the fastest laps on all practice and qualifying seasons, and lead every lap from pole, setting fastest lap in the race, to the delight of my fanatic home crowd.
