Penalty points for teams

    My first forum post, so if it’s in the wrong place then feel free to move it!!

    After Ricciardo getting the stop & go plus the 10 place grid drop, it made me think about having a penalty points system for the teams, very similar to the one for the drivers. They could get the 2 points for doing something wrong and then if they get 12 in a season then the team doesn’t score any constructors points for 1 race (similar to the racers being banned for 1 race). The drivers would still be able to get their points though.

    This would mean the teams would be penalised instead of the drivers.

    Thoughts?

    I had this thought as well. I do feel sorry for Ricciardo receiving this harsh punishment when he stopped as soon as he realised the wheel wasn’t attached, rather than continuing on as we’ve seen others do in the past. I don’t think there is much he could’ve done about the situation.
