    Hi everyone,

I’m sure i’m not the only one who has noticed the diagonal ‘stripes’ on the track this weekend. Appearing on the various inclines of the track, I am assume that this is some sort of special tarmac to help with the draining? (in the slow moe shots it looks like there is less standing water than the main tarmac) I’m pretty sure its not any actual paint on the track, I just wondered if anyone had any more information about it – seems a clever solution to ‘rivers’ occurring (i’m sure some will still occur). I’ve not seen this before and just wondered how its been done.

Also i’m on a high as for some reason I was convinced the BBC were not showing this race live so was pretty pleased when I turned on the TV today!

Apparently they are just grooves cut into the tarmac, like in Spa earlier this year.
They’re there to help with drainage.
