So, turns out ( I reckon ), if you don’t want your radio broadcast ending up on TV, so the whole world, and the pitlane knowing about your KERS not working.. then SWEAR all the ****ing time.
Chances are, they wont release the broadcast to transmission thus given you that layer of secrecy that wont end up in embarrassment..
“Felipe, Fernanda is a ****ing sight *****y faster than you”..
Problem.. solved!

As the radio messages are delayed, couldn’t they just bleep them out though?
11th April 2011, 12:12 at 12:12 pm #166642Stephen JonesParticipantwell in theory.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-zEnO_KwDg
11th April 2011, 12:17 at 12:17 pm #166643Ned FlandersParticipantHaha, that’s a nice theory, but I imagine the teams will have people directly intercepting their rivals’ radio messages directly, so it would be pretty futile
11th April 2011, 12:48 at 12:48 pm #166644Prisoner MonkeysParticipantAll messages sent between team and driver are time-delayed. FOM would have more than enough time to bleep swearing out.
11th April 2011, 12:49 at 12:49 pm #166645AndrewTannerParticipantThought so PM. That’s what it sounded like on Sunday from what the BBC were saying.
They’ve got it nailed in the WRC, they turn the air blue all the time. So would I if my person was subject to being thrown down the occasional ravine.
11th April 2011, 12:58 at 12:58 pm #166646DavidSParticipantF1 doesn’t really have a swear bleeper person. As iamsa8 pointed out.
Here’s a few examples:

11th April 2011, 13:15 at 1:15 pm #166647IcthyesParticipantJust make the swearword the code!
11th April 2011, 15:02 at 3:02 pm #166648ScribeParticipantButons reaction still cracks me up 2 years later.
11th April 2011, 20:42 at 8:42 pm #166649CalumParticipantWould it stop Vettel.
Interview with Lee Mackenzie of F1 Forum,
Blah blah blah, can I say this? … “Arsenal* (football club)” :L….blah blah blah.
What a great champion to have for the sport, he always has these comedy moments, like last weeks cake in the face for DC, and laxative chocolates this week. Whatever next Seb?
*coded message for something very similar…
11th April 2011, 23:37 at 11:37 pm #166650leandroccParticipantYou say all communication is time-delayed, but how much of a delay are you talking about? 2 seconds?
11th April 2011, 23:45 at 11:45 pm #166651JPQuesadoParticipant1/2 to 1 minute of delay. It’s just the time to put all the beeps on the swears.
11th April 2011, 23:50 at 11:50 pm #166652JPQuesadoParticipantActually, as Icthyes said, they could make the swearwords the code. Imagine a radio message like this: bip bip bip bip bip bip bip bbiipp bbbbiiiiippppppp.
12th April 2011, 5:31 at 5:31 am #166653DavidSParticipantIt could almost be rhyming slang.
“You need to arse that car”
“We need you to shit for tyres”
12th April 2011, 5:39 at 5:39 am #166654F1YankeeParticipantdon’t teams approve what gets broadcast?
