So we have the young drivers’ test coming up on tuesday and wednesday, and I’m making a predictions championship for it. Scoring is the same as in the F1Fanatic predictions championship, apart from the pole position part:
Correctly naming one/two/three/four/five driver/s who finish in the top five: 1/2/3/5/8 points
Correctly predicting where one/two/three/four/five driver/s finish: 2/6/14/24/40 points
There will also be a tie-breaker with predicting the fastest time set – if two predictors score the same amount of points, the one who is closer to the actual time will win. There are no prizes unfortunately!
So predict the top 5 (from both days) and the fastest time set. You have time until Monday midnight British time, which is around 24 hours from now.
Here is a list of drivers that will participate, although I’m not sure if it’s entirely correct:
Red Bull: Daniel Ricciardo
McLaren: Oliver Turvey, Gary Paffett
Ferrari: Jules Bianchi
Mercedes: Sam Bird
Renault: Mikhail Aleshin, Jerome d’Ambrosio
Williams: Pastor Maldonado, Valteri Bottas, Dean Stoneman
Force India: Yelmer Buurman, Antonio Felix da Costa, Paul di Resta
Sauber: Sergio Perez, Esteban Gutierrez
Toro Rosso: Jean-Eric Vergne
Lotus: Rodolfo Gonzalez, Vladimir Arabadzhiev
Virgin: Jerome d’Ambrosio, Liuz Razia, Rio Haryanto
Hispania: Pastor Maldonado
My prediction:
Best time: 1.41:497
1. Ricciardo
2. di Resta
3. Bianchi
4. d’Ambrosio
5. Bird

Ricciardo
d’Ambrosio
Paffett (hardly seemes like a young driver anymore!)
Bianchi
Bird

1. Ricciardo
2. Paffett
3. Bianchi
4. Di Resta
5. Really don’t know….I’ll say Gutierrez

Ricciardo will be fast but not as fast as you’d think a red bull to be and Maldonardo and Gutierrez will have decent showings.
Problem is the track evolution of the two days makes it hard to judge their relative performances.
