Hello, long time reader, first time post!
So Ned Flanders’ Tilke article earlier got me thinking – if you had a typical 19/20 race season what would be your dream venue listing? What tracks would you include if you had Bernie’s job? With all the money being spent making new tracks I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest the same money could be invested to bring back old tracks, so you can include no longer functioning tracks…

23rd August 2010, 22:42 at 10:42 pm #143695sbl on tourParticipanti,d take a year out go to
daytona 500, monte carlo, indiandapolis 500, le mans 24 hours, goodwood festival of speed, monza, a wee trip to maranello and to finish it off go to japan and brazil,
now like teenage kicks that would…. be hard to beat!!
and then
repeat the following year!!!!!!
23rd August 2010, 23:49 at 11:49 pm #143696xtopheMemberAlbert Park (Australia)
Sepang (Malaysia)
Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari (San Marino)
Magny-Cours (France)
Catalunya [pre-Caixa change and pre-chicane] (Spain)
Monaco (Monte-Carlo)
Montreal (Canada)
Istanbul Park (Turkey)
Rotation of Hockenheim-Zandvoort-Portimao-Brno-Zolder (Europe)
Nurburgring (Germany)
Silverstone (Great-Britain)
Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium)
Monza (Italy)
Suzuka (Japan)
Interlagos (Brazil)
And most importantly, stop constructing circuits for the sake of having a F1 GP there. Unless venues have a reasonable turnout or are “classic tracks” they’ll always have an axe hanging over their necks.

27th August 2010, 23:39 at 11:39 pm #143700James_mcParticipantAustralian GP – Melbourne
Malaysian GP – Sepang
Argentinian GP – Potero de los Funes
Brazilian GP – Interlagos
Turkish GP – Istanbul
San Marino GP – Imola
Monaco GP – Monaco
Canadian GP – Circuit Giles Villeneuve
USGP – Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Oval)[run as part of the Indy 500]
Spanish Grand Prix – Jerez

Austrian GP – A1 Ring (as the Osterriech Ring doesn’t exist anymore – ok contradicts previous GP!)

I’d say pretty realistic. Ends in Japan like it should do in my eyes. Would love to see F1 Cars in the Indy 500 but that would likely conflict with Monaco and I think the F1 cars would trounce the Indy Cars. I’m not 100% sure though.

30th August 2010, 22:26 at 10:26 pm #143702IcthyesParticipantGoing to make this a little realistic:
1: Albert Park, Australia
2: Sepang, Malaysia
3: Sakhir, Bahrain
4: Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi
5: Motorland Aragon, Spain
6: Monte Carlo, Monaco
7: Istanbul Parlk, Turkey

13: Hungaroring (modified for a bit more speed by cutting the chicane and having a diagonal straight from the middle of the final straight into the first of the U-bends), Hungary
14: Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium
15: Monza, Italy
16: Shanghai, China
17: Suzuka, Japan

*pending finding out what Austin looks like. And it would only let me draw it in straight lines, so apologies for it being messy.
