2016-17 Formula E calendar announced

    Ahead of its final race weekend of the year Formula E has revealed its calendar for the 2016-17 season but it is very tentative and features many changes from the past two seasons:

    Rd 1 – Hong Kong ePrix* – October 9
    Rd 2 – Marrakech ePrix* – November 12
    Rd 3 – Buenos Aires ePrix – February 18
    Rd 4 – Mexico City ePrix – April 1
    Rd 5 – TBA – April 22
    Rd 6 – Monaco ePrix – May 13
    Rd 7 – Paris ePrix – May 20
    Rd 8 – Berlin ePrix – June 10
    Rd 9 – TBA – June 24
    Rd 10 – Brussels ePrix* – July 1
    Rd 11 – Montreal ePrix* – July 15
    Rd 12 – Montreal ePrix* – July 16
    Rd 13 – New York ePrix** – July 29
    Rd 14 – New York ePrix** – July 30

    *Subject to circuit homologation
    **Subject to circuit homologation and final administrative authorisation

    The championship is also running the FIA Electric Mobility Forum in Las Vegas on January 7th

    What a great calendar. It’s still a shame they have to have the big game over the winter period, but as soon as April starts, that looks pretty amazing. Also, very excited to hear about what Rd 5 will be (I believe 9 is supposed to be a different London round?). I really hope both double headers are approved.

    It’s good to see that they’re expanding the calendar, hopefully they start to shrink the gaps between races so it’s a bit easier to follow.
    It’s just a shame that they’re moving the UK round – I really like the current circuit.

    I’m really hoping the new circuits are on wider roads so we can have more overtaking, and less chicanes would be nice too.

    I think round 5 will be another US track, maybe Long Beach again?
