An incredible performance by young Red Bull driver Antontio Felix da Costa today. In a wet qualifying session for an F3 Cup race at Snetterton he took pole position by nine seconds!
Da Costa is competing in the race so that he will be eligible to participate in the Macau Grand Prix. He took pole by 9.115s from Chris Dittman, followed by Kevin Korjus – the latter, like Da Costa, preparing for Macau.

27th October 2012, 21:44 at 9:44 pm #213871safeeuropeanhomeParticipantThat is pretty outstanding, reminiscent of Gilles Villeneuve at Watkins Glen in 1979 by the sounds of it!
27th October 2012, 21:45 at 9:45 pm #213872WallbreakerParticipant9 seconds, holy mother of god :o
27th October 2012, 21:53 at 9:53 pm #213873mrgrievesParticipantThat is amazing. What a effort by Da Costa. He is starting to look like THE outstanding talent outside of F1. This guy is making a lot of noise and the F1 community will have to sit up and see this like we have

28th October 2012, 2:51 at 2:51 am #213876BobParticipantIf ever there was a clearer sign of da Costa’s potential, this is it. Taking pole by a margin of 9 seconds… unthinkable.
28th October 2012, 6:53 at 6:53 am #213877Prisoner MonkeysParticipantI have to laugh at the title of the article: “Da Costa grabs pole but Dittmann shines”.
How, exactly, did Dittmann shine when da Costa took pole by nine seconds?
28th October 2012, 7:10 at 7:10 am #213878andae23ParticipantWhat makes it more impressive, is the fact that is was Snetterton: only 8 corners or so, so how did he find nine seconds there?
28th October 2012, 7:23 at 7:23 am #213879Prisoner MonkeysParticipant@andae23 – Snetterton got an upgrade last year:

Still, very impressive28th October 2012, 8:39 at 8:39 am #213881David-AParticipant@prisoner-monkeys – I was going to say the same thing! Except Da Costa, nobody shone if they were beaten by 9 seconds!
