A heavy-rain weather hit day two of the GP2 post-season test session at Circuit de Catalunya as it took a while to see brave on-track action. Kevin Ceccon was the first driver to set a pretty slow laptime only followed by a handful of drivers. The rain stopped for the final hour of the morning session so the drivers could enjoy the afternoon. Alexander Rossi was fastest overall (1:31.173) with 39 laps under his belt with the Caterham Racing team followed by this year’s Auto GP champion Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (1:31.552) having runned 31 laps. Given damp tricky conditions, the session was hit by nine red flags over the day and finished that way as Pal Varhaug crashed at Turn 4.
GP2’s next appearance is in Jerez, in three weeks time for the final post-season test of 2012.
