Those look good, though a bit old fashioned, having seen so much fine-combed F1 wings lately :)
Need not be a bad thing, but just something I noticed. Also, the wheelguards still look quite ‘heavy’/big in the back, even though it looks a lot better than what the current car has.

In general @keithcollantine, I definitely agree that a commentator should report on an event, giving commentary to explain and help the viewer comprehend what’s happening that which isn’t obvious from the screen. I do think there is, as @porchef1 says, a role in showing the viewers where there are interesting events, or possiblilities, when at the surface the race might be stagnant. But, it has to stay grounded in realism. From the times I saw your commentary @keithcollantine, I quite liked the way you gave insight, and background knowledge where appropriate while keeping a keen eye on what’s happening on track.
I didn’t see Sky/CH4 last weekend, instead being confined to RTL Germany, so don’t know what exactly Crofty said, but ‘my’ commentary seemed to be positive about Hamilton catching Vettel for quite a bit after it was clear that he didn’t have enough laps or pace. Still, they did conclude before the end that Vettel was going to win.
Crofty is on the whole too often running away with excitement to pay attention to what’s happening on track, in my opinion. But Sky is a lot more disciplined than RTL in not talking over radio communication (probably bc. they then translate what’s being said for their viewers? sigh), another one of small annoyances!
What is very annoying, and quite unforgivable from commentators or so-called analysts, and I see it from RTL as well as from Sky, is bias in how actions/speed of a driver/team are interpreted based on like or nationality (RTL is a bit more blatant in being pro-Germans/Austrian-team, though not very pro German team Mercedes somehow; Crofty is quite pro Hamilton, but Brundle and others are often more neutral, or rather, less consistently biased). When it happens, it makes all analysis pretty much useless, and it is one of the reasons I don’t often watch the pre- and post- race shows anymore, and instead only read your analysis on F1Fanatic11th October 2016, 13:55 at 1:55 pm #330446
@brickles, @dragoll, @f1alex interesting points; I thought at the time that Rosberg needed to get on with his race, hoping to see him maybe fight for a podium (I am not really a fan, but do like to see HAM,ROS fight it out on track sometime this year); @brickles that looks very much like the same move indeed.
I still feel Rosberg was a bit clumsy but I am now also wondering, if Raikkonen had reacted like Schumacher, and realised that defending only works up to a certain point, could that collision have been avoided, and might he have been able to stay close to him to fight it out at the end of the race?23rd January 2016, 11:38 at 11:38 am #311711

With no visibility on who got how many votes from where, if the number of respondents is very low on twitter, or via all channels (?), then getting a real correlation might be difficult because it easily changed by just a few votes extra here or there, I’d think.

I found it typical of the sort of rule that Indycar clarifies what new rule means evening after issuing it … though that also only functions to make it less clear as the clarification contradicts the plain reading of the rule. As you say @bascb, reminding of F1 Max Mosley era:
“We feel it’s our responsibility to distinguish between irresponsible statements that damage the sport or its competitors and the intense competitive nature of the series. This rule is to ensure we have authority to act when we feel it is required,” Miles concluded.

Haven’t decided for myself either. My wife and I aren’t happy with ziggo, were going to switch to Vodafone, so that would rule out on-demand for now.
I liked that Mol is impartial, if a driver goes fast, he is a fan, less tiresome than RTL Germany, but pre race was a joke last few years, and I usually knew much more on what was going on from f1fanatic live than from RTL!28th November 2012, 13:51 at 1:51 pm #216006
There it was eventually quite clear, that Hamilton’s initial overtake of Trulli (yes, off track) was quite legal (if they hadn’t just goofed up at McLaren and then lied about it, of course). Earlier this week I found time to watch the BBC highlights of the race – usually I find that very satisfying, but this time, while I loved to see the race again, I was underwhelmed somehow. Qualifying wasn’t exciting at all (even though it was in actual fact so when viewing live on Sky), and I missed bits of the race that I thought were better than what was there. Did anyone else feel like that too?

Oddly, earlier this weekend, theFifthDriver tweeted a link to a blog post on the McLaren site called Talking Telemetry. I answered, saying I was hoping they’d give more. Guess Hamilton obliged :-p
That Wurz’ tweet is brilliant, and says it all, not the smartest tweet by Hamilton. I do like the earlier tweets by HAM saying honestly how disappointed he was (though maybe a bit too disappointed if McLaren is right), but that one, big oops.
I do think McLaren and HAM have to see how they can avoid this sort of thing though, I can’t have been the only one to think “oh, split strategy, there goes HAM’s weekend”, somehow he pics/gets the wrong one of the two it seems (like in Monza 2010 too).14th June 2012, 8:02 at 8:02 am #203659
Saw an add. yesterday from RTL NL, they are showing the whole race. Yes, with ad breaks undoubtedly (but then again, I am not going to stay up for 24 most likely anyway), but also in HD. Already told my wife I’d find ways for both of us to enjoy me having that on the whole weekend, and she said she’d let me try, so jay! Looking forward to it.4th June 2012, 7:11 at 7:11 am #202546
Couldn’t be around to watch most of the race, went to bed before restart. Still saw some great racing in between.
And I was reminded again of how different, more open, the pitlane in Indycar is compared to F1. No one complaining (on tv) just saying they’ll have to see, trust the organisers and it is a shame for the crowds etc. And casually naming team/sponsor into conversation smoothly, it all comes over as a friendly track day we could all be at which is very pleasant to watch. It might be partly a facade (is it?), but it is well done nonetheless.
