Ed’s results are staggeringly good. To be honest, none of us were really ever in the same class as him. Hat’s off.

Looks like I’ll be able to make the race after all.

I am going to miss Canada, too, as I will be in Big Sur for the weekend. I guess I am sat in 3rd place no matter what. I was looking forward to Canada but I’ll be getting rained on in the redwood forests of California’s coast instead.

I have a G27. The wheel is a massive advantage when driving without aids. With aids, Brooksy007 put it perfectly: you can change directions faster with the pad AND you can save a spin better because of this.

So all in all, if you are racing with full aids, a wheel doesn’t really add to your laptimes.

    Without aids, its is essential.

Looks like both Bradly and Robocat smacked you pretty hard from behind and didn’t yield position. Sucks man.

Why not a series of “heat” races to determines who goes onto the A Main, B Main, etc?

    Guys,

I just want to say that last night I did about 10 races where TC and ABS were turned OFF. Even with damage OFF, the racing was SO MUCH BETTER. Without the assists, you’re screwed if you bump someone. Not only will the car you bump lose track position, but the car that does the bumping will probably lose even more. It really evens things out in a way that I can’t really describe. It was a very positive experience. I also think that it naturally drops the “bashers” towards the back of the field.

    Brooksy,

I love the idea of having a team mate. In the other races I participate in, I do this and it is a much more enjoyable experience.

The real problem is the safety car regulations which don’t allow the back markers to unlap themselves, thereby depriving everyone of seeing great fights on the restarts. This is what REALLY needs to be fixed. For everything else, blue flags should suffice just as they do in nearly every other series.

    Bradley13:

I think your proposed system is a good concept, however, there is one major issue:

we would need to have truly impartial “stewards.” Perhaps the best way to achieve that is to swap with people from the other championship?
