    @darthsaku

    get them direct from sepang and it will cost you less than a ga ticket for silverstone

    Do you mean buy them when you arrive in Sepang? I am interested in getting K1 tickets but different websites are selling them for different prices.

    @awizul
    I’m thinking of tying in a week of exploring Malaysia before the Grand Prix weekend (arrive in KL on the weekend before the race) and would appreciate any travel/accommodation tips you may have.

    I passed Bradley for what felt like the tenth time into turn 1 but could not get any traction out of turn two and he breezed back past. From there, we had a few scrapes as I repeatedly tried to find a way through until I got a run down the pit straight and ceased the opportunity to complete a safe overtake. But as I edged ahead, he appeared to swerve to the right and I was sent spinning into the wall before turn one again.

    I tried the same thing again on the next lap but left even more room to be safe and he pushed me onto the grass before the braking zone where I lost control and careered into him. Unfortunately, that was my last chance and I could not catch back up to him before the end of the final lap which meant I finished third.

    My heart was pounding from the moment the lights went out to the moment I crossed the line to finish the race. I knew I had to win to have any chance of winning the championship so it was definitely one of the most intense races I can remember and I certainly don’t think I’ve been so nervous/shaky during a Collantine Cup race before! I also think I’ve set a new record for most lag-induced collisions during a race.

    Here’s the video. It’s my longest edit yet but I promise it’s worth it! Maybe I thought it was exceptionally exciting because I knew how important a good result was which made it intense but there’s a lot that happened. If you like crashes and funny collisions, you’ll enjoy this.

    And Bradley, I know I couldn’t show you after Monaco, but all of our collisions during this race were basically carbon copies of our collisions in that race!

    Well, I’m going to attempt to break down one of the craziest races I’ve ever been involved in.

    I put in a poor qualifying lap but followed it up with a mediocre one that was enough for provisional pole, although I was unhappy with the fact I cut the corner at Ascari. I went for a final run in an attempt to better my time with a ”clean” lap but ran into @slr into the first Lesmo.

    Made my customary poor start from pole and lost out to @sato113 into turn 1, but he got a poor exit out of turn 2 and I went around the outside of him through Curva Grande. As I pulled ahead, I started to feel the back end getting loose and braced myself for the inevitable and we lagged into each other. We both went into the gravel and hit the wall at ridiculously high speed which put us at the back.

    I then set about tentatively fighting my way from last to 4th before pitting at the end of lap 6 for primes. I rejoined behind @ed24f1 and quickly passed him as he was on pretty worn tyres, but unfortunately he accidentally spun me out at the della Roggia which meant I lost another large portion of time. I fought my way back through the field once more until I encountered @JamieFranklinF1 down the pit straight but he pushed me onto the grass as I pulled alongside across the finish line (I’m assuming there was lag and he didn’t know I was there) and as I panicked and rejoined the track we collided and I ended up arriving at turn 1 in reverse at 300km/h. Yet more time and positions lost!

    Passed @Bradley13 again and then dispatched a vomiting Jamie as the rain began to fall and we all pitted together for inters on lap 17. After our stops, I managed to drop the Lotus pair and catch up to slr in 2nd but he pitted for full wet tyres as I was lining up an overtake. I suddenly realised the track was too wet for inters which meant my in lap was pretty scary. I was hoping everyone hadn’t undercut me by getting onto the full wets earlier, but I was struggling to wrestle the car around the track.

    I exited the pits just ahead of slr and Bradley who were battling but outbraked myself into turn 1 and cut the corner. As I felt I’d gained an advantage, I let slr through before the della Roggia but Bradley outbraked himself and took us both out. I caught them again and passed Bradley through the Parabolica but knew he’d likely retake the position as he’d be in my slipstream. I used all my KERS, slr’s slipstream and then some of my newly recharged KERS to break Bradley’s tow which meant I reached top speed and drew level with slr into the braking zone for turn 1. In the spray and excitement, I missed my braking point, locked up and cut across his front wing. As I rejoined the track, I couldn’t see where he was and in my hesitation to get going, I allowed Bradley through once more whilst leaving slr behind which I’m sincerely sorry for! I probably should have stopped but I was very frustrated as I felt I’d already lost way too much time through accidents I didn’t feel I played any part in.

    Oops.

    Another disaster. Couldn’t get within 2 seconds of the lap time I wanted from qualifying and ran out of time to improve on a lap that involved several mistakes and a couple of minor crashes. Then in my frustration at how long it took to change tyres, I accidentally pulled a Ned Flanders/Magnificent Geoffrey (I guess it’s also called a Common Monsoon now…). It wasn’t until the menu screen popped up that I realised what I’d done. The disconnects this season have stung, but it’s worse when it’s self-inflicted.

    Anyway, my championship situation is looking a little bit… bad. If this season’s pattern continues I should be able to finish at Monza and then disconnect/retire from the finale! Can’t really say I’ve got what I paid for with this game.

    @Electrolite
    You may have had the last laugh today, but I’m still beating you in the championship and I’ve only contested 50% of the races… :-P

    One hour until the last race of the V8 era, possibly the last race of the PS3 era and possibly the last Collantine Cup race for some of us. Hopefully we’ll have a big grid and lots of fun!

    There’s a potentially deadly spider on my ceiling but I don’t have the heart to harm it so if I’m not present tomorrow, I’m almost certainly dead.

    Yeah, but what if someone like @Electrolite won the championship? He totally doesn’t deserve that opportunity.

    @Bradley13 I think the best way to ensure we can race fairly despite the UK/Australia problem is to be extra cautious around those who are on the other side of the world. If you’re planning a defensive move, maybe try making it as soon as you get onto the straight even if it appears as though the person behind is too far back (chances are they’re already alongside) and you feel it’s too early to make a move. The main problem was that you probably saw me coming in your mirrors so decided to move across the track but from my perspective I was already alongside/ahead. It’s not ideal, but it’s the only real workaround I’ve found.

    My last resort! Posting an image of the rest of what I tried to say… Thanks for posting that @slr, but that was only the first half which I somehow managed to post but it disappeared when I tried to add the second half. Weird.

    And Bradley, I know I couldn’t show you after Monaco, but all of our collisions during this race were basically carbon copies of our collisions in that race!

    @keithcollantine I’m having a problem where I can’t seem to post replies to the Collantine Cup thread in some cases since the update (could be an issue with the thread itself considering it was accidentally deleted and then restored).

    When I encounter this problem, half of the time it takes me back to where it should appear but there’s nothing there, and the other half of the time it takes me to this page (which is pretty much blank with no functionality). I’ve tried different browsers and even had someone else try to post the same text but nothing has worked so far and I’m wondering if there’s a character limit or even certain words that trigger it.

    I’m happy to email you an example of something that triggers the issue if it will help.

    @Bradley13 Both myself and @Magnificent-Geoffrey are working out the scores now and we’ll post the standings soon. I know it looks correct, but there’s a few people (myself included) that still need to drop a DNF because it actually resulted in a score. Sorry for the delay!

    @JamieFranklinF1
    Thanks for the kind words but really, consistency is key! My connection has let me down a lot but I still had a realistic shot until I made that excruciating error in Singapore… I’m excited to see who comes out on top after Brazil! It’s actually been another ridiculously close season. This 8 race calendar never fails to deliver, it seems.

    Congratulations to our new winner, @sato113! How did you do that?! Was it your perfect timing when it came to switching to the full wets? We were all scrapping over the podium and somehow you’d already escaped. It’s always nice to see someone new on top. Do you have any footage of the race?

    Apologies to @slr who was taken out a few times by me today (directly and indirectly). Out of the pits I locked up and cut across you and then Bradley outbraked himself into the della Roggia and pushed me into you. Then at the end of the pit straight I braked at the marker I use in the dry and harpooned you. I tried everything I could to avoid you but I was kind of out-of-control and panicking.

    @Bradley13
    Did you record the race today? It’d be really interesting to see how our incidents looked from your end because it certainly looked a bit silly from my angle and I know you couldn’t be doing all of that on purpose. If not, would there be any chance of you getting some footage during the next race? P.S. Next time I’m going to find a way through… ;-)

    Honourable mention to @JamieFranklinF1 who apparently pulled a Mark Webber and vomited during the race. That’ll make for an amusing anecdote should you manage to win the title…
