I think this is really annoying.
24th March 2013, 11:06 at 11:06 am #229281robbiepblakeParticipantNot surprising at all. He’s British, he’s extremely popular, he’s a talented racer and a world champion, and (probably most importantly) he’s very marketable.
24th March 2013, 10:47 at 10:47 am #229385robbiepblakeParticipantBest Driver: Rosberg
Worst Driver: Maldonado
Best Team: Mercedes
Worst Team: Williams
Best Overtake: Webber on Button
Best Funny-moment: Hamilton’s pitstop
Most Surprising Result: Jean-Eric Vergne in 10th
Least Surprising Result: Maldonado going wild, Red Bull 1-2
Special Mention to: Massa, still being pretty good despite a poor start. Also Jenson, doing really really well.
Race Rating: 7/1018th March 2013, 13:37 at 1:37 pm #228943robbiepblakeParticipantOkay, you don’t like him. That’s fine, but why did you give the race a 1/10? If it was a different driver who won would you have voted it much higher? That’s silly.
18th February 2013, 21:42 at 9:42 pm #225314robbiepblakeParticipantHe also put two wheels on the grass several times. Now I’m not sure it matters with such a slow car but I am quite certain it doesn’t help.
That’s another reason I don’t believe these lap times. Also his lap was very scrappy and he missed multiple apexes but was more than a second faster than all the others? I don’t think so.Do you really think that the footage you saw of the car going around the track was all from Hamilton’s fastest lap? I don’t think so.
23rd September 2012, 8:33 at 8:33 am #210925robbiepblakeParticipantI don’t know why people have only just noticed because Maldonado has always been fast. He’s obviously talented, but he’s just never been able to see through the red mist. He has also not apologised for his previous and probably deliberate accidents.
Maybe he has moved on, we’ll see at the end of the year.
11th July 2012, 16:01 at 4:01 pm #204669robbiepblakeParticipantThe management system is great and it’s the reason why I wanted to play the game. The driving section on the other hand is very poor. Point and click, top down perspective… what awful controls.
10th July 2012, 10:56 at 10:56 am #205312robbiepblakeParticipantWhat I’d suggest is going to Google images, searching for ‘Stirling Moss’ or ‘Fangio’ and in the settings change the image size to large or larger than a specific size you’re after.
I’m not sure how high you want the resolution to be. Here’s a nice one from F1 Fanatic itself of the pair of them:

Visibility is another issue but I’m sure manufacturers can produce toughened material with very little glare or distortion.
Perhaps the only option is to keep evolving the helmet.
4th July 2012, 15:54 at 3:54 pm #204968robbiepblakeParticipantI got Rosberg’s autograph at last year’s Goodwood Festival, along with many other drivers.
It felt special getting those because I waited ages to get to the front, fought with others to secure that spot, when they arrived I actually met them, got to speak to them and they smiled and spoke back. And best of all I got them to sign my things for free.
Memories are far more important than items.
30th June 2012, 14:19 at 2:19 pm #204255robbiepblakeParticipantThere’s absolutely no way the Admiralty Arch would be allowed to driven through, for safety reasons. That’s way too dangerous.
Definitely a PR stunt.
12th June 2012, 15:23 at 3:23 pm #203699robbiepblakeParticipantJeez, wish Letterman would stop interrupting and let him speak. Vettel’s got natural flair in front of a camera, he doesn’t need the host’s interjections, no matter how old or famous he is.
7th May 2012, 19:15 at 7:15 pm #201355robbiepblakeParticipantI would’ve dried up China’s pit lane entry in 2007.
19th March 2012, 10:06 at 10:06 am #196141robbiepblakeParticipantI feel bad saying this as I want to support the BBC, one of the great British institutions if you ask me, and continue supporting Jake, Eddie and DC. I also do not support Murdoch or Sky as I think they are pond scum, but watching the BBC highlights of the Australian race is quite torturous. Ben Edwards histrionic screaming and shouting is painful. It reminds me of Jonathan Legard and that is not what I want the BBC team to have.
Croft and Brundle all the way.
17th March 2012, 8:09 at 8:09 am #196000robbiepblakeParticipantIt’s early days yet but also there doesn’t seem to be much personality. The coverage is extensive and informative but everyone’s just doing their jobs showing us things and talking about it but not much else.
Compared to BBC with Eddie, Jake and DC who have a laugh and chemistry and put their personalities into it it’s a bit bland. That segment where they got Lewis Hamilton to drive the bloke around a track in a MP4-12C felt so forced,. 20 seconds of driving, then some very obvious questions afterwards. Compared to Jake who actually seems like he’s having a conversation with someone he knows well and is enjoying himself.
I dunno, early days as I say. We’ll see how it goes.
