I sit in grandstand 11 (although grandstand 12 would work too). Immediately after the race victory lap, gates are opened to the track and you have to be ready to make a mad dash to the podium. Afterwards, you can walk the track and make your way back to the casino or the general area of the metro station.

One thing I like about the Canadian GP is that you can bring any and all food, drink, beer, coolers, etc. to the track – no problem.

Most off track events/entertainment is centered around Crescent Street. The city does go all out for this race.

Here are some shots of the general admission areas, but they’ll give you a flavor of the track in general:

Technically, the start-finish grandstands are the most expensive. If you settle for grandstand 11, make sure you’re in sections 1-5. The higher numbered sections in grandstand 11 have their view of the start-finish and a big chunk of the Senna S blocked by trees. If you opt for grandstand 12, the sections closest to the start-finish have their views of the start-finish blocked by the TV screen and the “elite suites”.

I’ve sat in the start-finish grandstands and my only complaints are that you’re mostly looking thru fencing and, during the race, the cars go by like they’re being shot from a gun (which makes photography difficult). Great photos and race experience by the way.

I went back and looked thru my photos and, sadly, no one with a kilt and Force India shirt. I’m sure you would have stood out. I’ve been to my share of Grands Prix and I concur that Montreal is a city you won’t be disapointed in. The race always delivers some surprises.

    for F1antics:
Your GS33 ticket will allow you everywhere except the Senna S and the gold grandstand areas at the start-finish. Should be good to the Casino bridge.
