What a race! there were actions in all sites of the track. Firts pit stop after the Safety car was not the best strategy, Vandoorne looked very strong and some other drivers like Izawa, Pic and Binder showed me a great impression, maybe Trummer would have been more ahead with a more early pit stop. I remember that Russian Time had serious problems with the tyres degradation, If they continue in this way, I can’t imagine how it will be in Nurburgring and Hungaroring. In conclusion, GP2 will continue showing good races =)

Lets see what Vandoorne can show us tomorrow against all the experienced drivers, especially against Nasr.
4th April 2014, 8:26 at 8:26 am #255246MiguelParticipantGP2 series is starting oficially today, who are the favorites to win this year? I think it is between Coletti, Palmer and Nasr. Last year I was supporting Sam Bird who is my favorite driver, he is now competing in WEC and has plans to be in Formula E. Leimer is going to race in 24 hours Le Mans with Rebellion Racing – LMP1.
Since Dillmann is out of GP2, this year I will be supporting Coletti, he showed a very good pace last year. Vandoorne and Marciello won’t be so overwhelming as everybody thinks.

I don’t like this driver, he didn’t have good results in FR 3.5, I would have bet for Muller or Stevens. Binder a Negrao are a worse couple of drivers for Arden than last year.

https://twitter.com/GP2es/status/398163227416084480/photo/1
Lots of new drivers, the top 5 drivers are supposed to leave the series, more drivers from WSR 3.5 than GP3, I would like to see Ellinas in GP2 next year, and seems that Dillmann will stay with Russian Time.
PD: Don’t know how to add images :(
3rd November 2013, 0:21 at 12:21 am #243842MiguelParticipantStill feel very sad for Sam Bird :( would have been good for him to win the championship to have chances in the F1 next year, what a disaster for Russian Time but still have chances to win the championship team tomorrow. Good GP2 season anyway, better driving than GP2 2012.
31st October 2013, 0:04 at 12:04 am #242355MiguelParticipantSimmon Trummer has been confirmed to continue with Rapax in 2014 http://www.gp2series.com/News-Room/News/2013/10_October/Rapax-and-Simon-Trummer-to-continue-together-in-2014/
Personally, I think that Trummer doesn’t deserve that seat in Rapax after 2 years racing in GP2.
11th October 2013, 22:27 at 10:27 pm #242342MiguelParticipantSeems that Adrian Campos bought Barwa Addax Team to Alejandro Agag, and are going to race in GP2 2014. It is a high probability that Facu Regalia is going to drive for Campos Racing because Adrian Campos is his manager.
9th October 2013, 6:35 at 6:35 am #242884MiguelParticipantIf Sam doesn’t get a seat in F1 next year, the best second option would be Indy Car. I can’t imagine Sam driving in DTM or GT series.
2nd October 2013, 17:33 at 5:33 pm #242336MiguelParticipantWho would say that drivers like Calado and Nasr are going to race their third season in GP2, it means that 2014 would be their last season to win the championship. If it takes longer, would be like the case of Valsecchi or Razia that took too much time to battle for the championship (4 years). Even though, it’s possible that this year, Leimer or Bird don’t get a seat in F1; that would be a shame because I think there are no more drivers who can do better in F1 than them, they are well-prepared to be in F1.
PD: If Palmer stays in GP2 for 2014, would be his fourth season!! too much time to be there…22nd September 2013, 0:04 at 12:04 am #241822MiguelParticipantToday, Nasr lost his chance to fight for the championship, would have to win in Abu Dhabi and wait bad races for Leimer and Bird. Excellent position tomorrow for Bird, almost in the last lap, overtook Clos and got the P8, position to be alive in the battle for the championship. If Bird wins the sprint race and Leimer doesn’t get a podium, we will have the final battle in Abu Dhabi where I guess that Bird will take with the pole position…
8th September 2013, 6:01 at 6:01 am #207660MiguelParticipantGood weekend for Sam Bird so far. After the disappointments of Nurburgring and Hungaroring, all the hopes for the tittle were going away, but he is back in the battle for the championship. I calculated that he would must win in Monza and Abu Dhabi. Spa race went better than expected, Sam scored point that put him close to Coletti and Nasr. Now in Monza, he got a P2 in the feature race that could finish in a victory and P2 in the championship. For the left races, Singapur seems to be good for Sam who is an expert on street races (like Mónaco), I expect a podium there, and finally Abu Dhabi that is a known track for Sam, he got good results in GP2 2010 there. Probably it is the last opportunity for Bird to get the championship because is his “win or win” season if he wants to follow Bianchi’s steps going to F1.
@wsrgo Leimer is now the main contender, will be a good race in Singapur. Qualifying is crucial there, just hope that tyres don’t be primordial there because Russian Time’s car runs out the tyres very quickly like I saw in other races.
8th September 2013, 3:20 at 3:20 am #213239MiguelParticipantBad luck again for Tio Ellinas, he lost the championship being crashed for his team mate. Anyway, Ellinas is a very good driver and deserves to race in GP2 or WSR 3.5 next season.
