You beat me! Also my proudest moment was probably overtaking you when your controller turned off. I did assume you were going to stop rolling backwards, you see, hence the unpleasant grinding.
14th July 2011, 19:52 at 7:52 pm #170496JavaguyParticipantNice racing there, chaps. I was expecting to be completely hopeless and was. Suzuka was alright by the last lap of the last race when I set my best lap, but I’d never driven my Corvette before at all (I bought it 15 minutes before we started and had just finished painting it when I joined) and knew nothing about Montegi. Hence the absolute shambles of two races I had.
Really sorry for the people I hit when I foolishly tried an overtake down the inside, realised I’d braked too late & cannoned into the side of you all. That was pretty much a nice summation of my evening!
30th June 2011, 21:01 at 9:01 pm #170343JavaguyParticipantThe first of many, I’m sure. I did quite enjoy the races though. I was utterly atrocious, of course, but I kind of expected it this time so just enjoyed the comedy of the situation. I might actually practice for the Class C races, I don’t think I have a car lined up yet.
23rd June 2011, 20:15 at 8:15 pm #170220JavaguyParticipantDon’t worry, I’m not suggesting in the slightest that you should’ve waited any longer at all. It was entirely my silly fault for forgetting we were to start earlier, I’m just rather full of regret at the moment. :(
Oh well, I think I’m slightly better with the Class D cars, so I might’ve spared myself a lot of embarrassment, really! I am sorry that you were stuck waiting for 15 minutes though.
Also: What sort of laptimes were you folks getting? Because I expect I’d have been company for you, TommyB! I was getting mid/high 1:19s on Sebring in testing, and 1:11s maybe on Silverstone? I can’t really remember. Also we’re each bound to have a combination of car & track we don’t get along with. See: Me in the Twingos last time…
23rd June 2011, 20:06 at 8:06 pm #170215JavaguyParticipantNext time, smifaye, we can have some more Elan style battles. Though hopefully without that crash. I’m currently sitting around feeling a complete idiot and wondering what I’m going to do with the evening I didnt know I had free.
I expect as the cars get faster we’re going to have more disagreements, sadly.
23rd June 2011, 20:03 at 8:03 pm #170212JavaguyParticipantSo judging by everyone vanishing I was mistaken in thinking the race was at 9. Totally my fault, really sorry about that. :( Really upset I missed what I imagine were some fun races, too.
23rd June 2011, 17:56 at 5:56 pm #170210JavaguyParticipantWell, I’ve had a run round both tracks, so I know vaguely in which direction I should be pointed at any given time. I’m just hoping I’m involved in fewer crashes this time. Good call on the force stock, didn’t know Forza had that option. Should put a halt to all the flexi-wing style conspiracy theories!
18th June 2011, 13:14 at 1:14 pm #170117JavaguyParticipantI think both the top circular logo & the three coloured flag would make great logos – the flag could be placed along the side of cars, for example.
Very nice work though on all of them!
17th June 2011, 19:45 at 7:45 pm #170108JavaguyParticipantBeing both lazy and uneducated I had no idea what the latin meant until now. Nice. :D
17th June 2011, 15:18 at 3:18 pm #170099JavaguyParticipantLove the enthusiasm for RRR on this thread, the championship certainly has grown! Re: The last race I could probably have played more but I wasn’t really in the Forza… zone that evening. Getting back into it now, though, trying to get the Elan round Sebring in one piece!
I appreciate it is probably far to early to start thinking about this, but since you’re already mocking up T-Shirts I may be wrong – has anyone actually given any thought as to how RRR could grow to attract new members? Because you can have the nicest logo (and the most authentic latin) in the world, but it is wasted a bit on such a small group of us, surely?
16th June 2011, 23:17 at 11:17 pm #170057JavaguyParticipantOh, yeah, I forgot about the bonnet number boxes. Time to get hastily painting.
16th June 2011, 19:16 at 7:16 pm #170053JavaguyParticipantMy far-too-long race report: http://whatapex.co.uk/rreports/races.html complete with eye-searing lime green!
16th June 2011, 14:55 at 2:55 pm #170047JavaguyParticipantSo I wrote a race review but it is pretty long, so I’ll try and condense it a bit before I post it. Also need to check I haven’t got the two Twingo races mixed up.
15th June 2011, 23:05 at 11:05 pm #170029JavaguyParticipantThat spreadsheet is brilliant! I’m delighted with my strong last place.
15th June 2011, 22:32 at 10:32 pm #170027JavaguyParticipantHmm, that is a shame. I’ll investigate the lag at some point.
