    Street circuits are pretty unforgiving. Not the most opportune first race.
    He’s still learning the car, but let’s see how qual. and the race itself goes for him.

    If nothing else, it illustrates the difference between then and now about our current litigious society – if the Le Mans racing circuit would still have the same spectator areas and racing safety now as they had back then, that type of accident would result in so many lawsuits and damage claims that the race, its organizers and backers (and possibly even the entire series itself) would likely be forced into bankruptcy, and litigated into history.

    I’d compare and contrast Martin with Nigel – I think their main differences were with ego and commitment (including ambition). I think if Martin would have had the same drive Nigel did to be ‘the best’ and F1 World Champion, he certainly had enough driving talent to come close or equal Nigel’s F1 career.
