Grand Prix 2 will always be the best because of the nostalgia factor. First F1 game I ever played, then found out how easy it was to mod and I’d probably still play it now if it worked on my pc, I actually miss it still, after all this time. That’s the best thing about GP2, it had you coming back for more. On most other F1 games I’d eventually get bored and stop playing for a while. Not on GP2.
The first PlayStation F1 game I bought was F1 98, which was ok. By the time I got given F1 97 by a mate (madman) I was still well into GP2 and more modern games so never really played it much. I eventually bought F1 Challenge 99-02, which was the closest thing to GP2 in having the longevity, mainly because of the online play and F1C is where I started racing in online championships. Now I play rFactor and, if you don’t take into account nostalgia, it’s far and away the best racing game out there. Until rFactor 2 comes out.
Agree with Tommy. It’s got to the point where people are now busy doing other things and/or don’t have time to race.
Wasn’t wet nor exciting for me lol. Quit because I was bored to be honest, not for the first time, difficult to find motivation running round in fourth. Wouldn’t be so bad but since there were only 4 cars out there it’s not the most exciting way of playing a game. Would just be better to race with more cars to be honest, I can’t see myself racing anymore if things don’t improve.
I’m in today if there’s enough drivers. SW6569 – think the Grand National started at 4 and the coverage starts at 1ish so should be alright for you I hope!
Sorry guys, was just bored to be honest. Sorry to smifaye if I spun him at turn one, at first it looked like I nudged you then you spun on your own cos you were quite far ahead but afterwards I thought it was probably me nudging you so sorry for that.
Feel like I should probably do a review myself lol, so here it is.
Quali:
Went out on a dry setup and immediately joined that group of 4 or 5 people within half a second of each other. Pitted for fresh tyres, went back out and turned my engine up to fast and just got a really good lap in and thought I wouldn’t be able to beat that so went back to the pits and hoped lol.
Race:
Got a decent start and came under attack from tomcheesey. Think I braked a bit too late at Les Combes and went straight on and lost the place. Unfortunately I can’t really remember what happened after that other than me gaining the place back and then just saving the car to the end. I knew MGP was closing a lot because of his softs but I had a good gap so was just taking care not to crash out. Pretty boring race for me in a way but I enjoyed being out in front for the first time this season :D
