Yeah MazdaChris I agree with everything you said. Attending a 24 hour race is an amazing experience and something I would recommend to any fan of motor racing. I also totally agree with what others have said about WEC races being something you have on while doing something else, but with Radio Le Mans on of course.

Le Mans 24 hours is one of my fave weekends of the year, and I always spend it with the race on and having fun playing games and generally drinking a lot of coffee! Its a mini endurance party in my lounge room, though I usually sneak in a nap somewhere lol. My fave part is the race through the night, the lights on the cars and the onboard views are stunning. I also love seeing the mechanics, drivers and spectators through out the race, clearly worn and worse for wear but fighting on and loving every minute of it!

    Hi Christine,

I went to Spa last year and sat at Eau Rouge. If you want to meet drivers for autographs and pictures you will need to head to the track on Thursday afternoon for the pit lane walk. In the past this was free to enter with a valid weekend ticket. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet I would def recommend trying to add Thurs and Friday to your experience as there is heaps of cool things to see and do.
    Enjoy,
    Matt

    @Garns
If you are heading all the way over to Europe from Australia you should try and go to at least two races while you’re there right? At least that’s what I told my missus ;P I went to Belgian and Italian GPs last year and I would highly recommend this combo as not only are they two of the greatest and historic circuits on earth, but the GPs are normally 4-11 days apart which is perfect for a scenic road trip through Switzerland in between. The Nürburgring is only a day’s drive from Spa on the autobahns too if you fancy a visit en route to Milan. I would also recommend a day trip to Monaco to walk the track as its quite surreal. After Monza I got up to Silverstone for a Brit 24h race which was amazing as I had plenty of time to explore the track without any crowds ;) Hoping to get to Melbourne and either Singapore or Malaysia in 2014. Best of luck with your holiday plans.

@realracer I completely agree with your entire previous comment. Though it would be a shame for F1 to lose Webber at the end of this season and personally I was hoping he’d hang around for a few more years. A swap to Lotus would certainly be interesting but could Kimi be bothered with all the Red Bull politics?

Yeah I totally agree about their helmets, even on TV its hard to differentiate. Is that enough of an excuse to get an even bigger TV lol? And it’s not like Lewis didn’t have hundreds of color schemes to choose from, and Nico’s helmet has looked like that for years.

Nice shots man, totally jealous of your pass!

PS You’ve tagged Caterham as Lotus a few times.

The missus and I are staying in Milan and heading in to Monza on all 4 days. We are sitting at Ascari for the race and quali although I hope to do heaps of exploring during the practice sessions and support races. See you there :) Go Webber!!

    Hi all,
My reservation is now confirmed at the Elephant from Thurs – Mon :)
Have also now decided to head up to Silverstone after the Italian GP for the Britcar 24 Hours as that looks to be quite an amazing weekend. And fingers crossed, if the missus is not sick of car racing dominating our Euro trip I’d love to go to 2 Tours d’Horloge at Paul Ricard in November :P
Enjoy the British GP this weekend! Go Webber!

    Greeting friends,

Coming to Europe and UK for massive roadtrip with the missus, August to Jan, first time leaving Australia. Got my grandstand tickets for Belgian and Italian GPs from official F1 site, with the redeemable voucher previously referred to above.

At Spa we are sitting in Gold 4 uncovered on Eau Rogue and I couldn’t be more excited :) We are hoping to camp from Wed arvo through to Monday morning, then head off to be at Monza by Thursday. The Elephant looks to be a sweet spot for camping.

Looking forward to sharing the excitement and buildup with you all in the coming months :)

    Matt
