Lord Stig already summed up the solitary option in the US pretty well. As he said price depends on your cable/satellite provider and what you get. We pay $80 for our satellite with a two tuner DVR. If there were a good option for F1 (both live and on demand) through the web or through an AppleTV app we would probably cancel our satellite subscription completely.

It’s not state of the art, it’s distracting and usually misses the real action. If they really want to improve the show, bring back the zip line cam that we saw at Silverstone two years ago. That provided a really unique perspective and allowed a following shot through a whole series of corners in a way that didn’t distract. I hope they don’t stick with this useless rotating cam.

15th March 2013, 20:01 at 8:01 pm #207539US_PeterParticipant@keithcollantine, I was wondering the same thing. Thought for sure Rossi was the obvious choice. Hopefully this means he’s gonna be getting a lot of seat time in FP1s this year. He was on NBCSN briefly with Will Buxton in both practice sessions, and at least implied that he’d be doing many sessions this year. I doubt he’ll get as many as Bottas did though.
27th November 2012, 18:45 at 6:45 pm #215895US_PeterParticipantMy favorite moment in that video is when Hobbs says “if she plays her cards right she could be MY girlfriend…” classic Hobbo.
I’m glad he and Matchett will be moving to NBC, with Buxton hopefully to be confirmed soon as well. It won’t be the same without Bob Varsha though. He truly is one of the greats of American sports broadcasting, like an Al Michaels or Bob Costas. Maybe once his contract runs out in a couple of years at SPEED he can rejoin the boys at NBC.
30th May 2012, 20:54 at 8:54 pm #202378US_PeterParticipantHaha! Love that commentary. That sad little moan after the initial silence following Sato’s crash is priceless. It definitely looked like Franchitti left less room than he should’ve, but it’s hard to know if that was intentionally dirty driving or not. At those speeds it all happens pretty fast. Hopefully Sato’s day will come, sooner rather than later…
19th March 2012, 21:00 at 9:00 pm #182696US_PeterParticipantGotta love the wooden delivery from both of them. It kind of highlights how ridiculous an ad like that really is.
2nd March 2012, 7:18 at 7:18 am #188170US_PeterParticipantWow! First footage of it on track, brace yourselves!
27th February 2012, 20:00 at 8:00 pm #183711US_PeterParticipantWell that kills my hopes that Alexander Rossi would be confirmed at Caterham. Still wonder what the big announcement is he’s alluded to on Twitter recently.

8th February 2012, 6:13 at 6:13 am #190929US_PeterParticipantKeith, I’d be happy to test. I use the site almost exclusively via iPad, but do sometimes access via iPhone as well.
31st January 2012, 22:53 at 10:53 pm #191560US_PeterParticipantMy guess would be that it’s disappearing from sites without an explanation given because said sites are receiveing cease & desist letters through legal channels emanating from Woking.
29th January 2012, 7:57 at 7:57 am #191395US_PeterParticipantVW doesn’t own Porsche, but Porsche and VW are both majority owned by Porsche Automobil Holding SE, which is the Porsche/Piecht family. So in effect they are subsidiaries of the same company even though Porsche is not under the umbrella of the VW group.
28th January 2012, 18:46 at 6:46 pm #191390US_PeterParticipantVery interesting. He’s saying that Porsche would be the most logical brand to use in F1, which I agree with. It sounded in the past like they would actually use VW in F1, so I’m glad they have tentative plans at least to use the Porsche brand. It’ll be interesting to see if/how this develops.
16th January 2012, 21:06 at 9:06 pm #150692US_PeterParticipant@thewittyweasel I don’t think that’s the case, as there are plenty of sites that accurately detect when you’ve visited on an iPad browser. In particular sites that have their own apps often try to hawk their app at you and require you to either click a link to their app or a link to continue to their site as normal. The same sites don’t provide that link when visited from an iPhone or iPod touch, so there must be a way of sniffing out devices in addition to OS.
