WHAT?!?! Cecotto got away with it? I was just watching the race (delayed) and came online to see how bad his penalty was, and to my surprise there isn’t a penalty!

http://www.motorpasion.com.br/cinema-tv/mansell-e-piquet-se-enfrentarao-para-promover-o-ford-fusionIt says Mansell touched the rear of Piquet’s car, then Piquet put him off track after hitting him on the left.

His car letting him down last Sunday after such a dominant pole was just awful, even if it handed victory to Kimi (which I was happy for). I personally would have liked the championship to go to either him or Alonso (nothing against Vettel, just preference).

I was going to say Massa back on podium, but while it was good… it didn’t thrill me that much.7th November 2012, 1:06 at 1:06 am #212653vinicius.jlantunesParticipantEpisode 10 is out.

15th October 2012, 2:52 at 2:52 am #212637vinicius.jlantunesParticipantIs that only me or teams are doing a bit more to please us (fans) lately? Sauber cut a car in half, Lotus did the papercraft E20 and lots of other stuff in their Facebook page, McLaren are doing these cool animations… hope that the trend continues!
5th October 2012, 23:32 at 11:32 pm #211642vinicius.jlantunesParticipantSeems I’m not alone in my liking for Sauber!
5th October 2012, 0:48 at 12:48 am #211636vinicius.jlantunesParticipantI am a bit like @prisoner-monkeys. But I do have a soft spot for a couple teams: Williams and Sauber. It is actually a soft spot for “underdogs”, which Williams and Sauber were as I started following the sport more closely (having just watched with my father before that but not really “understanding” it). They maybe do not fit that definition any longer, but I still like them.
As for drivers, I like Alonso, Koba and Kimi – as you see, not very much aligned with the teams. Maybe teams is what I really support, while drivers I kind of admire and recognize.15th September 2012, 13:16 at 1:16 pm #210356vinicius.jlantunesParticipantI live in Brazil, but a bit far from São Paulo… I found this link (below) but it wasn’t working for qualifying yesterday. Not quite sure it will be aired by TV’s here… anyway thanks for the tip!

All aspects of it, starting with basic math and science education to form engineers for instance, or simply the existence of any tech firm that would benefit from associating its name with F1 or use that as a “testing / development bed” for its products.
Many teams in F1 are no longer solely a racing team – they are tech companies and / or tied to automotive industry (e.g. McLaren, Ferrari, Williams, Mercedes, Caterham, Marussia). The others (Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Force India, Lotus, Sauber, HRT) are international business plataforms for their funding firms.
The first of above “avenues” for a Brazilian F1 team is, in my opinion, not viable due to the aforementioned lack of technological aptitude.
The second is maybe not as interesting as it may sound – the brazilian grownt is largely due to the internal market, what makes Formula 1 and its inherent global character less appealing. Brazilian firms who would be interested in enhancing its global position via Formula 1 association are limited in number (Petrobras, Vale and OGX come to mind, but that’s all).31st July 2012, 2:20 at 2:20 am #206346vinicius.jlantunesParticipantSenna on Perez
