GerardMP was the top scorer in the German Grand Prix round of the Predictions Championship.

Hi 24-point haul moves him into the top 100 in the championship. Arpi_ retains the overall lead, three points ahead of Scunnyman and three more ahead of CyclopsPL.

GerardMP wins a Lotus DVD box set and Nicolis is the first person to claim the new runners-up prize of two T-Shirts from Unlap – an Official F1 Fanatic T-shirt and a race winner’s T-shirt.

Several players were left to curse Ferrari’s team orders. Edgar mendes came off worse, as he was poised to score 24 points before Felipe Massa was told to let Fernando Alonso past. The change of place left him with 11.

Please note that should the results of the race be changed the Predictions Championship standings will remain the same.

The prizes

This year we’re giving away a pair of prizes every race weekend.

On top of that at the end of the year the top 12 finishers all get prizes – and whoever scores the highest overall will be going to the 2011 British Grand Prix. Here are the prizes in full:

Grand prize: Two grandstands tickets to the 2011 British Grand Prix

The person who scores the most points in the 2010 F1 Fanatic Predictions Championship will win grandstand tickets to the 2011 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

This is the first time we’ve offered F1 race tickets as a prize at F1 Fanatic and I hope you all agree it’s a fitting reward for the F1 expert who can best predict who will be on top in 2010.

The grand prize winner will receive tickets to all three days of the 2011 British Grand Prix with reserved grandstand seating for the race.

Second place prize: An F1 painting of your choice

The second place finisher in the championship will win an F1 painting by Rob Ijbema.

You get to choose which F1 driver, present or past, will feature in the painting. Or you can pick one of the other motor racing paintings on Rob’s site Car-a-day.

Runners-up prizes: Autocourse 2010-2011

The ten players who finish in third to 12th positions in the championship will win a copy of the 2010-2011 edition of Autocourse.

The highly respected journal of Formula 1 and other major international four-wheeled racing series is published at the end of every season.

This year the publication marks its 60th anniversary edition.

    Well done, GerardMP!

Just remember that if it weren’t for my main man Yam’s propensity for driving with the emergency brake on, I would have undoubtedly taken top prize.

  2. Haha, almost half of the participants scored either 7 or 9 points, me including (with 7).

  3. Well done GerardMP, although somehow I think you might be the only one who is happy about the race result! :P

    Congratulations GerardMP

I had by far my best results this weekend, finished equal 3rd with 21 points and jumped from outside the top 300 to 131st.

Im delighted with how well it went for me

  5. Cheers to someone else named Gerard visiting F1Fanatic!!!

  6. Some points and not too far from the top for my first attempt here. I’ll try to continue!

  7. Poor race for me.Dropped 65 places.Stupid me for not putting a ferrari in the top 5.

  8. damn i missed the last two races’ predictions. was too busy.

  9. Wow, really Wow. After several (all till now) rounds of scoring just a few points this time I hit the jackpot. THANKS FERRARI for your team orders.
And thanks Keith for this fun prediction championship.

  10. To everyone who is ahead of me, I am faster than you, do you understand. ;) ;)

    1. lol !

      :):):):):):):):):):):):):)

    2. I don’t understand, sumedh! Since when are you on my team?

Lol! COTD definately, best comment since Magnificent Geoffrey’s Legard tribute poem!

      Nathan

      1. Where would I find said poem?

    4. Sorry sumedh you can cry all you like and call it ridiculous but we are not pulling over to let you pass lol

    5. These are not team orders? We should just know what’s the right thing to do for the team right?

      1. Sumedh is quicker. Let Sumedh pass for the championship :P

        1. Can you confirm you understand, Sumedh? Good lad, sorry :D

  11. Hmm… 6 point to the leader with one GP missed. Nice. All hail me :D

  12. Damn, the Ferrari swap around cost me 4 points, least we all know now not to put Massa in front of Alonso in future ;-)…not that I ever have X-)

  13. Hey, if you’ll keep the predictions championship unchanged even if the WMSC disqualifies Ferrari drivers, why don’t you award the same points to those who predicted Massa 1st and Alonso 2nd?

I’ve heard that, during the World Cup, a betting agency accepted Lampard’s shot as a goal and registered Germany 4 x 2 England, instead of Germany 4 x 1 England, the official score that excluded that shot on the bar, that kicked inside the goal but the referee didn’t consider (sorry for the spelling).

  14. Well, I´m really dissapointed. UNFAIR AND UNCOOL. I´ve sent my predictions for Silverstone and Hockenheim before the deadline via e-mail and should´ve gotten 22 points and in the table there I have two ceros. I´ve written to Keith and there´s no explanation. Sad, I thought this competiton was cool and fair…

    1. I’ve just searched all my email folders and I haven’t got any emails from your address.

      1. The address I´ve been participating with isn´t the one I write for my MEmo nickname. I´m “Lot-of-Lotus-for-us” and I´ve always sent my predictions from my other e-mail (you´ve even answered me sometimes) and that hasn´t been a problem until Silverstone. I mailed them both on Fridays, more than 10 hours before third practice, to the competition@f1fanatic.co.uk mail, but it´s been like I´ve never sent anything…

Crap, have I placed Vettel instead of Webber in the third place I’d first, maybe second.

Also, Keith, I just noticed two of my predictions are missing. Sepang is under Jos© Baudaier and Shangai is under Jos© Baudaie where the rest is under José Baudaier. Looks like there is some accent problem there. You should be able to notice that all three are (or at least should be) using the same e-mail address.

Don’t know if you are able to put all 3 together, but if you can I’d be glad.

    1. At the moment I’m not sure if the problem here is the entry form not working with the characters in your name, or you typing your name differently in the form sometimes (Baudaie and Baudaier). It could be both – can you shed any light?

      1. José Baudaier
        29th July 2010, 20:02

Yes, looks like I also misppelled my last name that time. But I would assume the e-mails are the same.

Anyhow, if there is some technicality preventing you from joining the predictions it’s not a big deal, just 8 points. It’s just that I’d like to have all my predictions counting.

  16. Reasonable haul of 19 points. Puts me back in it anyway!
    Well done GerardMP.

  17. Damn, first one I’ve ever missed.

  18. Thank you Ferrari! (never thought I’d be saying those words). 19 points vaults me from languishing in the 400’s to 195th place !

  19. Many thanks, Keith, for sorting out my scores after I made a typo (call it an 18th birthday present for yday!)… It won’t happen again.

  20. 13 points! Pulled me back into having sort of hope to finish the championship pretty high. Damn Vettel for his prepostorous start and not coming 2nd though…
