Nobody is forcing you to watch F1

No. The only snooze race this season so far was Baku. Even Monaco was great, thanks to the weather (it would have been better without Red Bulls pit lane
error). Tomorrow will see some real racing, and perhaps we can pray for a splash of rain to give Mclaren a chance.

@The Skeptic You forgot to mention Russia, LOL.

This is exactly how they should police track limits, except they made one mistake, limiting it to three corners. Hopefully they continue this trend on all circuits. Be it naming the particular corners and just going about deleting lap times in Q, and giving penalties in races. It’s about time drivers stop whinging about walls or kerbs on one race to then go on and abuse the white line like there is no tomorrow on the next race.

Agreed @xtwl
Penalties and deleted times upheld everywhere would certainly stop the track liming abuse. I imagine all drivers would be behaving after 1-2 races with consistency. I’m afraid to say that I’d be surprised to see it happen but here’s hoping.

Good recovery by Kimi to get ahead of Vettel after his awful Q2, but I guess for Ferrari fans it’ll be disheartening to see Red Bull ahead of them on merit around Silverstone.
It does make you wonder what kind of season we’d be having if Toto et al had decided to take a risk and give Red Bull the Mercedes engine. Shame.

Or if Red Bull had taken a risk and given Ferrari a hand with their aero.

Really is starting to look like Ferrari are slipping into 3rd now behind Red Bull and I can only see Red Bull getting faster, if Ferrari start getting a lot of 4th 5th 6th place finishes can see them getting stuck in a rut again.

There goes Wolff’s saying that Ferrari and Red Bull have caught up. Fortunately for us, they haven’t listen to him and won’t stick to the current regulations till 2020.

What a mighty lap by Hamilton after his time was deleted. Great job under great pressure.

Great lap by Max in Q3 .. 3 tenth of a second faster then Daniël ;)

It was the one thing bothering me: that 0 against Ricciardo.
Now erased!

Hopefully it will rain during the race or the only action will be VET coming up through the field from 11th place start. The Mercs will avoid wheel to wheel racing. The Red Bulls could prove interesting if RIC is aggressive at the start and passes VES.

Or verstappen can leapfrog over the silver arrows at the start .. i am not worried about Ricciardo cause Verstappen has much better race pace and will end in front of Daniel for sure :)

Oh my god, how I have only just noticed the “80’s grid” thing? Keith, this is genius – how long has it been on here for? That really takes me back.

This just goes to show how Mercedes is really in a league of their own. In 2016 they have a much larger advantage at Silverstone than they had even in 2014 and 2015. They are still over 1 second a lap faster on quali pace, and have better race pace than any other other team as well.
Ferrari have shown that their Vettel era is nothing more different than the Alonso era. They still remain in their historic position of the slowest of the front runners. It’s just a matter of time before Vettel starts throwing his toys out of the pram and heads start to roll again.
Mclaren are in a league of their own as well. They remain the only team to bring updates that have little or no effect on their pace. When it comes to consistency, no team has managed to be consistently 2.5 seconds off the Mercedes pace since 2014 other than Mclaren. I think they need to prepare themselves to fight in the lower midfield for seasons to come. Championships? I’ll eat my shoes and socks the day Mclaren Honda win a WDC or WCC
